Now that I know about them... Furries are awesome. What bothered me about the article was the big girl with the red tank top on that was totally under dressed. Were those low cut jeans? or was the shirt just too short. I would never go to a public event lookin like that. |

Oh, and just my opinion, but I've always thought that people who bash Furries, Wiccans, Gays, other races, Video Gamers, Nerds, or any other group that has negative stereotypes attatched, are merely insecure and therefore must find some bandwagon to jump on so that they feel included, even when their hate is based purely on opinions and fiction. |

Huh. I've always liked drawing animals, and I have drawn the anthro and 'humans with ears and tails' before. Does that make me an animal raper? No, it makes me an artist who loves animals and can't draw human faces worth poo.Hell, I never even knew there were people who dressed up in costumes and thought of anthros as a fetish until I heard people bashing them. |

I didn't say all furries raped animals, people. :PI was replying to LazyMe484. They even mentioned it in the article lols. I have no problem with furries who don't participate in deviant acts such at that as I mentioned before. e_e; |

Wow, people here have a messed up view of furries...
Being furry is not an obsession, its a cute little piece of my personality. My boyfriend is also a furry and it would be interesting to see you think these things of him, considering how he looks. Completely normal and almost preppy looking, tall, muscular but a complete and utter furry :p The only reason you have these preformed ideas of furries is because only the idiotic ones do anything to draw attention to themselves and their "weirdness". Non-obsessive furs just go about their business, hang out with other "normal" furs and generally have fun doing their own thing. Its like racism, you use stereotypes to put down and belittle people, but not everyone is the same.
You've only seen one side of the scene. |

Also, for those of you who say that furries rape animals:I have NEVER met a furry that was also a zoophile. Ever. Most furries are into animal rights and stuff, so I'm going to assume that they aren't too into raping creatures with no possible way of consenting to sex. Christ. @_@ |

Loxen - I don't really think I'm "downright creepy with some real problems". :) In fact, a lot of the furries I know are pretty cool and relatively normal. Maybe it's just 'cause I hang out with the artists? Who knows? Groups are judged predominantly by the extremists that make it to the media. When you say "I hate Christians", or whatever, you probably don't hate all Christians. You probably only hate the non-nice individuals who try to shove their Bibles down your throat and condemn you to Hell for looking at some attractive chick's butt. Guess what? Not all furries are messed up. Most of us are just like you. :) |

An opinion is never a fact, it will never be a fact, it will always be an opinion.You should go out and see for yourself if the opinion was made off of bias, ignorance, or just petty hate-of-difference. Furries wouldn't bother me so much, if the majority of them were actually normal "people" with a specialized interest. It makes sense they want to be accepted as animals because as humans the majority of furries are downright creepy with some pretty real problems (Socially, and mentally). Think of that "Ninja Turtle girl" clip that was on here a few days ago. Thats your average furry (minus TNMT) Odd, often overweight, and commonly obsessed.

Orangecrow, plenty of non-furries rape animals too. It isn't exclusively a furry thing; it's a cruelty thing, and that's something that exists everywhere. There are good and bad people in whatever group you pick.Some married men beat their wives, for example. That doesn't make domestic abuse a straight thing. |
