Thursday, April 30, 2009 9:40:43 AM @swantonbomb7no, there aren't. this goes hand in hand with the economy. if this were to pass we would have a new multi-billion dollar industry with other countries following along. we would then have a new prime export and a huge chunk of change straight in the government's pocket. i say in 10 years, weed alone can help fix our deficit. |

Tuesday, April 28, 2009 3:56:06 AM I prefer weed to drinking anyway... no hangovers! Plus it would cut down on hospital bills for drinking incidents every weekend. |

Get a life and stop hating weed just because you heard that it is bad. I find it funny how you are against weed and not against alcohol. If you have ever properly researched either one, you would see how flawed your logic is.Also: Nice pic, Load... haha -------------------- I like alcohol less than pot, dumbass. I guess I should have clarified and said I was talking about ALL mind-altering substances. No exceptions. That doesn't make me a prohibitionist, it just means that I think people should have some self-control. |

Monday, April 27, 2009 5:11:07 PM At least decriminalise all drugs. Why make a criminal out of the user? |

Monday, April 27, 2009 4:31:16 PM I spent almost 2 hours reading this entire thread (thanks for the wasted half hour of off-topic bickering Trixie, Prime, and Kier). Anyway, legalization has been a long-time pipe dream for me (pun intended). As a smoker of 20 years, having to give it up for a decent paying job sucked. I even argued the mary-jane vs. alcohol case to my drug rehab class teacher. I continue to argue it today. I had to take the class because I failed a random at the nice paying job ;p. So I put the weed down and instead of relaxing at the end of the day with a nice doob, I crack open a few beers. Now, before that, I had a rockin' body, energy for days....now, beer gut (yuch!), laziness, don't like drinking but like to have a wind down after a hard day's work. And I do math for a living (predominantly without a calculator) so I must have plenty of brain cells still well intact. Sadly, I don't think it will come to fruition in my lifetime. Legalize it already!!! |

Monday, April 27, 2009 3:19:24 PM I don't even smoke weed... But I do agree and if it was ever taken into vote, I would totally vote yes. But like the ginger girl in the video said, tax it, put an age limit on it... and also, no smoking and driving. I don't care if you think it makes you a better driver... it doesn't. DWH (yeah I went there) should not carry the same charge as a DWI, but it being a misdemeanor (and stay a misdemeanor) with a small fine would be ok. |

Monday, April 27, 2009 3:15:44 PM "anybody remember prohibition???? do we still have gangs selling illegal alcohol??? making outrageous tax-free profits???? killing people over turf???"What you are arguing there, is that the lift on alcohol prohibition was a good thing, not that the same for marijuana would be. We can apply that to anything, murder, for instance, if we legalised it, there would be no more messy legal cases, or and the murder rate would go down! (no it wouldn't)... I am NOT comparing Marijuana to murder, at all, but what I am saying, is that we should look at the drug itslf, rather than history. |

Monday, April 27, 2009 2:04:58 PM "The economy is crap. And this is what he is working on?! There is more important things than legalizing pot. I wouldn't care if it was legalize though lol. But seriously. There are bigger things to work on than this."the tax revenue from this would be so large that it would help the economy, nop doubt. you get all those non violent convicts out of prison, and not only will you be freeing tax dollar for stuff that is more important, but you will have thouse dealers making money and getting taxed on it. so basically, the whole thing correlates |

Monday, April 27, 2009 1:36:37 PM Don´t do it!!! Look what happened in Holland!!! It´s a third world country now with violence and 2/3 of population is using heavy drugs now!!! Right? Of course NOT. Hamp is a natural resource. Cotton owners in US had a "scare" campaign against the Hamp long time ago(yes, even regular no-THC hamp)to secure the market. It worked. Cotton sells. Hamp dont. Common people cant enjoy pot but alcohol culture is booming. I never heard of potsmoking rapist or pot fights. Stop the nonsense and legalize it now. |
