I feel bad for them. While I find this disturbingly stupid I respect their belief. Unfortunately it's this silent acceptance that allows them to continue hurting themselves and those they will pass this ritual down to. |

I don't think that just because something is "part of someone's culture/religion" that it should deserve some special respect that makes it taboo to deride it in any way. For example, in Saudi Arabia they're just now getting around to regulating child brides since a man of 60 married a child of 8. Sure, it's someone's religion/culture. Is it retarded? Yup. |
