And this is why vigilantism works
Governments poo at giving security without turning it into a Gestapo state anyway, and it even fails then

That was a creative list. The speed limit one I disagree with though...while most of us are smart enough to know how fast to drive in any given place, we also need that added fear of a policeman pulling us over for speeding...otherwise I'd go a little too fast everywhere. *shrug* maybe that's just me.

saaytin back the I am a pretty pretty little girl off of ammit. some people can't type well or for that matter just can't spell well. its a learning disorder. just because they have something to overcome doesn't mean you have to tell them that their right to express themselves is null.

1.)hahaha i remember the days of no speed limits! There used to be races on the highline all the time! It was the year of the freemen and the unabomber and there was a tshirt that said "montana: no sales tax, no speed limit, no lack of FBI agents" god i was in like fifth grade then...

2.) sex offender registries piss me the I am a pretty pretty little girl off! Regardless of how major or minor the accused offense is, it ruins your life forever. I don't know about other places but here in montana it seems like if you are accused, you're going to Deer Lodge for a long time. it's a he said she said thing, and she's immune to testifying...

3.) zero tolerance, ha! I remember boys coming to school after getting up early to hunt, they still had their rifles hanging in the back of their trucks! handguns were a general no-no though. and leathermans were everywhere...

Brandy snap... that's cause a blunt knife requires more effort to cut, thus resulting in hand slipping with the forse of cutting which causes accidents. Sharp knifes require less energy and effort to cut whatever it is your cutting, so you theres less accidents

I asked my home ec teacher that same question years ago lol

Most safety laws are effed up anyway. (This is completetly irrelevant but...) Our safety knives at work had to be replaced because they weren't "safe enough". So they made them "safer" by making the blade sharper with a finer point.

"Hey guys we need to re issue these knives they're not safe enough"
"We could make them sharper?" "And more pointy?"
"You guys are genius!"

no speed limits would be nice...because i may like going fast...but like hell am i going to risk my car to go that extra 10 miles an hour around that turn...no...i dont need a speed limit sign to tell me what is safe...what i need is...."sharp right turn ahead" "10% gradient hill" "bad neighborhood"...those signs save lives...

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. - Benjamin Franklin

America isn't a police state.
America just has a lot of stupid people in authority, ESPECIALLY so in the educational system. In most cases, those kicked out for dumb reasons go to the courts and are reinstituted into the school.

If this was a true police state, I wouldn't be able to do nearly as much as I do.

*sigh*
No matter where you go online, you find people who watch zeitgeist and loose change and believe every bloody word it says.
I don't agree with some paranoid policies.

Go to north korea and tell me this is a police state. :)
Get off your "I'm enlightened" highhorse. It has no legs anyway.

"thank the f*ck I missed out on this 'zero tolerance' BS, but as have stated before the US IS a police state, you Americans just don't realize it yet "

Some of us are pretty aware of it.

"I agreed with none of the arguments. These laws aren't perfect but that doesn't mean we should get rid of them. That's like getting rid of the minimal drinking age because teenagers can still get beer. This whole article wasn't really well thought out."

No, it doesn't mean we should get rid of them.

It means we should REVISE them.

Because they aren't doing what they were originally intended for, and they're drating things up for people who've done nothing wrong because of it.

And at Ammit: learn how to type or stop talking online.

Amber Alerts, thats funny because last night in my city a baby got stolen, and because of the Amber Alert, it was found pretty quick because of people who heard about it

I hate zero tolerance at school and I'm a good student. You can get into serous truble if you ask a simple question to your freind, if a teacher sees a cellphone, she can take it away even if it if off, or in some schools get in truble if you were you tuch someone, even if it were a handshake, high-five, or hugs.

The people who passed these laws should be judged only on their good intentions, not of their results.

Cracked should do one of these articles about federal government programs that had great intentions but don't work and actually do harm. They could start with the Dept. of Education.
