By the way "black face" in "The one who ask has one black face, the one who refuses has two black face" refers to "shame". Not the actual blackness of the skin. |

There is a very famous saying in Turkish: "The one who ask has one black face, the one who refuses has two black face" meaning that Don't be afraid to ask for things. He is trying to refer to that saying and asks Obama to end terror. He mentions many times He is not racist. Believe me Turkish people are not racist against Black people at all. |

This effects me as Im a white guy from ireland and was going to paint my face black to dress up as "JD quench" from the sprite ads over here for a costume party I have next weekend.Do people really think I would cause anyone to think it was anything other then for comedic purposes!!! link for anyone that doesn't know JD quench:

je_scream, I don't really care to get into the issue because, well, I don't really care.
But being black and a quarter white doesn't give you reign to just label things as offensive. Just like some other black guy walking around giving white people "permission" to say the n word doesn't really work either.

Anyone who says that this is not racist or offensive because of cultural differences is an idiot. This man has reduced Obama to nothing but his race and colour, like nothing else about him matters. The fact that the Turkish don't "White up" when they host a white politician tells you that black has some other meaning for them. You'd be right to be offended if you were American, especially as the USA is actually making an effort to make contact with a middle-eastern country that does not result in piles of rubble and flag burning. Still, coming from a country who's national sport is rubbing each other in olive oil and then wrestling each other in tight leather shorts....... |

Of course this is offensive, for one this is how they portray one of the most important men in the world, I think the president deserves 10 times more respect, and I don't even like Obama but come on! i cant see this being offensive to any race...my opinion. honestly,dave chappelle did his one character,which involved him painting his face white to portray a news anchor,and it was fine. no problem with that right?no of drating course not. |
