Octillion, actually its just a little skill and knowledge the right angle and speed of the stick (which can be seen in this video) on the flat edge of the puck will lift it in the manor shown. |

ZacchNasty, the reason it's so amazing is because the puck is very flat and the hockey stick is very flat. You need to get it under there in such a way so it doesnt just slide on the ice. |

It may be an uncommon shot placement, but it's really not that difficult of a thing to do. Back in the day I practiced putting the puck into the netting above the glass from about 10 feet back (good for clearing the puck on a penalty kill, for example). The real trick for this shot was making the goalie commit. |
