Sunday, March 29, 2009 1:24:50 PM I think when he came back down was more impressive than the actual jump. |

Saturday, March 28, 2009 6:10:16 PM For what it's worth, my friend was staying at a hotel over-looking the stunt and was there to see it. For realsies. |

Saturday, March 28, 2009 10:09:53 AM I have a feeling it's the real deal. But if there's any slight chance of it being fake, it's the obvious fake enthusiasm that blonde lady seems to have. Or lacks. Either. |

Saturday, March 28, 2009 8:41:37 AM whoever submitted this link is fckin retarded. that is Robbie Maddison's New years eve jump, its legit. OMG of the day LAST year maybe, but this stunt is really old news. and for the record, he tore the skin between his thumb and his index finger when he came back down so all of you nay sayers can just suck it. |

Saturday, March 28, 2009 7:31:43 AM "That landing looked a little fishy... He should have been speeding down that ramp but he just slowed right down somehow. No breaks work that well."Err... It's totally legit. No camera trickery. And motocross bikes are extremely light. Couple that with four pot callipers and you can outbrake pretty much anything. As for the "fishy landing", well if you've never rode a crosser than you can't appreciate the shock absorbing effect of long travel suspension. 100% real. |

Friday, March 27, 2009 11:34:28 PM On close inspection it looks like the bike absorbed most of the impact. Could have something to do with the strange shape of the ramp. |

Friday, March 27, 2009 11:32:06 PM That landing looked a little fishy... He should have been speeding down that ramp but he just slowed right down somehow. No breaks work that well. But I was there. Not at the time this happened but before. I saw that triumphal arch up close. Its not much to look at, its a cheap imitation, just like the rest of Vegas. |

Friday, March 27, 2009 7:43:40 PM The actual jumps themselves aren't greatly more difficult than more common jumps. The same factors apply to any bike jump and the rider always has to get them right. There are two big differences here, though: i) Degree of leeway. On a normal jump, you can get away with getting things a bit wrong. If you're a bit out on the landing area, you can get away with a less than optimal landing. With this jump, getting things a bit wrong means missing the rooftop landing zone or missing the right angle on the extremely steep drop ramp and you won't get away with either of those. ii) It's too far up. It's like the difference between walking along a plank a foot off the ground and the same plank a hundred feet off the ground. Same plank, therefore just as easy to do...but it isn't. |

Friday, March 27, 2009 5:00:32 PM @ langdonhill - I hope you were joking. If you do some research you'll find that Las Vegas has made replicas of a lot of international monuments as a tourist attraction. So, as odd as it seems, this Was filmed in Las Vegas.

Friday, March 27, 2009 12:42:00 PM Pfft. The landing ramp for the second one was, like, 3 times as wide as the launch ramp. >:| |
