Friday, March 27, 2009 11:09:32 PM "id like to see him hold back a saleen s7 or even a mclaren. then see how long he can hold it :)"Probably 30s or more, depending on road and tyre conditions. The more powerful the car, the easier this is to do, as long as it has traction control fully disabled (or never had it in the first place) and is 2WD. The car isn't generating any forward force if the drive wheels are freely spinning, so no force is required to stop the car moving. You just need to be able to let go very quickly if it gets traction as a result of the tyres heating due to friction. So the question is more one of how long the driver can keep the car wheelspinning for. |

Friday, March 27, 2009 12:59:14 AM the fact that it was such a powerful car made it easier. if it was a typical car, it would not have enough hp to make the wheels spin before it tugs on the guy hard enough.

Thursday, March 26, 2009 8:15:31 PM The way you burn out a clutch is by not having it fully engaged. Also, tires have MUCH less friction (force against the ground) when they are spinning. I'll be he couldn't hold back a Honda Accord with an automatic transmission. |

Thursday, March 26, 2009 5:58:26 PM "the first one looked fake ass hell. the rope connected to his back wasn't even tense"There's no need for it to be. It's a safety harness to prevent him being pulled over forwards, face-first into the ground. It looks good, but I don't see what the issue is apart from reaction speed. The car would have stayed in place if he wasn't there, so he wasn't holding it back. It's a matter of being able to let go fast enough when the car gets traction. |

Thursday, March 26, 2009 5:15:38 PM Sure but the Car was burning out on the street. If they were to just pull forward slowly, the guy wouldn't have been able to hold it at all. |
