Monday, March 23, 2009 7:03:09 AM Finally splurby, I bet you've never worn anything other than a Boy Scout uniform. It's quite obvious to me by what you've posted below that you've never served a day in uniform in your entire life.If you have, you were quite obviously an eight-ball. |

Monday, March 23, 2009 7:02:26 AM Oh splurby... you make me chuckle so.I'm going to immediately point out the fact that you call me dumb, but you misspell "told"... by ADDING a letter... Nice. Second, I'm curious as to how anyone could tell where I went to college by the profile pic. Third, yes, I used to live in Buffalo, NY it's my hometown. And I still love my Sabres. Currently, I live in the midwest. Fourth, there are literally THOUSANDS of pictures of members of all branches of the military on the internet - with their nametape or nametag visible... Usually on the militaries own sites. (Go to any base's website and look dumbass!) That's my previous rank... I got the lozenge a few months ago, and I'm currently Stateside and will probably get the star in the middle before discharge, who cares about my rank? Are you jealous? And since when is the fact that there were NO WMD's found in Iraq BS??? |

Sunday, March 22, 2009 11:29:36 AM Oh, and Osiris... I thought I toled you a few months back that your picture is a great giveaway to anyone who would want to find and kill you. Just giving you a reminder, they know what school you either like or went to, they know your last name and your rank... they know what branch you are in, what state and city.... Dude... does the Army not teach you guys anything worth knowing? |

Saturday, March 21, 2009 6:04:08 PM "I am truly surprised that anyone who claims to have been a Marine, or ANY former military experience at all, failed to recognize OR mention that the Bush entrance the Marines were ALL standing "at ease" and the Obama one they were ALL at "attention"."-You assume much, read all the posts before you start with this nonsense. "The majority of Marines come from Texas, that could be one explanation for the response to Bush." -Osiris- Yeah, you are apparently one of my brothers in arms and all, but when you throw out trash like this and damn near everything else you wrote... well, you sound pretty dumb. So cut the bullpoo OK? You absolutely don't know what you're talking about and it's obvious. |

Saturday, March 21, 2009 2:12:59 PM Hmmm...Whole lot of non-military people here giving their analysis of a YouTube video. Including some that aren't even enough to vote. The majority of Marines come from Texas, that could be one explanation for the response to Bush. Another, more likely explanation is that they were ordered to "show an enthusiastic response for morale purposes" When Bush made his surprise visit over Thanksgiving we were ORDERED to pose for pictures with him... but only after volunteers were asked for and no one did. Also, as mentioned earlier by someone else in this thread, you're seeing edited videotape of two completely different events. But hey, you saw it on the internet, so it MUST BE TRUE. @xboxman: Get your facts straight. There were NO WMD's found in Iraq. |

Saturday, March 21, 2009 1:09:13 PM I don't exactly hate Bush, but if I was in the army I most definitely would. |

Saturday, March 21, 2009 10:19:14 AM I am truly surprised that anyone who claims to have been a Marine, or ANY former military experience at all, failed to recognize OR mention that the Bush entrance the Marines were ALL standing "at ease" and the Obama one they were ALL at "attention".The only reason a Marine would stand at ease in the presence of the Commander in Chief is if he had been ordered to. Otherwise it would be an insult to someone of that high rank. Conversely "at attention" is the position to be in when a high rank enters the room. So if you look at it from the proper perspective, the Marines showed MORE respect for Obama in this video. |

Saturday, March 21, 2009 9:34:43 AM "i dont understand...why would they cheer so hard for bush, but seem totally unenthusiastic about obama?" Because they're racist rednecks. Honestly, at a hockey game, I saw a sign for Army Recruitment right next to a Waste Management sign. |

Friday, March 20, 2009 1:11:02 PM Keith- With all due respect, you are mistaken. The Bible says that the Antichrist will "be loved by all." In saying that Obama is the antichrist, you are, in fact, proving that he is not. |

Friday, March 20, 2009 12:07:44 PM Honestly, the appearances shouldn't be compared. If we're to do this, compare either two informal meetings, or two formal ones. Don't take an informal address from Pres. Bush and compare it to a formal address from Pres. Obama! |

Friday, March 20, 2009 11:02:19 AM "Hmm...last time I checked, we were not in Iran but in IRAQ!Typical Republican excuses for a truly unnecessary war." What the hell are you talking about? I was responding to someone else's comment, pay attention. I never claimed we were in Iran. "look the number of civillians that we have killed, Doctors without borders and the U.N. both have come close to the same number...175,000. Cheer Cheer Cheer..we can kill unarmed kids." You fail statistics forever. We have not personally killed 175,000. First off, 175,000 is higher than most other estimates (the idiotic Lancet survey notwithstanding), and second, that's not the number of people we've killed, but the number of people who've died, period. This number including insurgents, victims of terrorist attacks, collateral damage, etc. If you're really ex-military, you are an utter embarrassment to the Armed Forces, and even if you aren't you are still an embarrassment to humanity. |

Friday, March 20, 2009 10:03:45 AM Incredibly weak comparison there!! Two completely different occasions, with completely different standards of behaviour, at different times, under different circumstances! However, I can imagine a certain level of friction. Thinking in terms of the Petraeus mind set that US troops (although also internationally) have got in to. Obama's plans and Petraeus methodology aren't exactly harmonious! |

Friday, March 20, 2009 8:55:08 AM i didn't say you should always trust anything that any government says. i meant that if you have a problem with the war (or any war) that's fine, but don't disrespect the people fighting in the war because of it. don't hate the player, hate the game. |

Friday, March 20, 2009 8:16:53 AM 6point02, a mantra of nationalism (such as "support the troops") is an old Marxist tactic to trick the people into backing a cause without question. Why shouldn't we question the troops? While I understand not all military have the choice to go to war, but a true patriot would see through watery war mongering and make an objectors stance, even if it meant prison. |

It's f#cking revolting."No, you're revolting. I know plenty of my fellow Marines who can run circles around your apparent intellect. Your prose scream bitterness and subjection to your emmotions. Oh, and being "ex-military" does not make you an expert on anything Marine Corps. The only people who know Marines are Marines and our enemies. |
