i agree that would be an interesting movie plot, but the book was absolutely horrible

and gathering blue was a lot worse

i look forward to the new Angels & Demons movie, for anyone who approves of the book and agrees

The Giver definitely needs a movie... too bad if it were to be made, they would probably get Tim Burton to ruin it... My other favorite Lois Lowry book that should be made into a movie, Gathering blue.

But this one looks pretty cool too. I will be happy to see it.

I had forgotten all about this book until now. One of my brothers always got scared halfway through and my mom had to stop reading it.
As soon as I saw this, I went to reserve it online at the library. Wouldn't you know... all 53 copies in the county-wide district have been checked out within the last 2 days. I know my kids would love it like I did.
