Monday, July 06, 2009 5:21:05 AM The globe is covered by three US patents and the disclosures show how it works. It is powered by photocells and it contains a bar magnet that aligns with the earth's magnetic field and a motor that rotates the bar magnet. Since the magnet stays aligned, the rotational energy is transferred to the enclosing globe. |

Monday, March 23, 2009 1:11:53 PM If they were magnets and oriented themselves to the poles, the globe would stop spinning once it oriented itself. I'm guessing that's not the case... |

Thursday, March 19, 2009 12:56:29 PM @lionhart.if he was a witch he'd weigh the same as a duck. as witches float and so do ducks. hence witches are the same weight as ducks. and if you do not believe me then i shall have to use my largest scales ;) |

Wednesday, March 18, 2009 3:58:40 PM @ iamboredtooo, yup your right. i had a toy eye that was like that when i was a kid. you always look at you. kinda creepy.and the whole sun thing is fake, its just the left over momentum thats making the inside rotate. |

Wednesday, March 18, 2009 3:21:34 PM so its a globe inside a slightly larger transparent sphere...with water filling the gap...was it really that simple or was it supposed to be ironically funny that it was that simple? |

Wednesday, March 18, 2009 3:16:37 PM Yea exactly... It's the "rotates rotates when exposed to light" part that has me interested. |

Wednesday, March 18, 2009 12:08:36 PM Yes, the staying upright part is probably a fairly ordinary concept (though ragefrk1, who claims to have first-hand experience, says that it is not). But people seem to be missing the solar-powered rotation part. |

Wednesday, March 18, 2009 10:33:57 AM that was so dumb! I've seen those things before, the outside moves and the inside doesn't... |
