Wednesday, March 18, 2009 3:48:43 PM I always thought the highest IQ score you could get was 170... Maybe I imagined reading that.I agree, the Mensa IQ test is a joke. I scored an IQ of 144, I only joined because my mum pays my members fee :D Stupid questions like 'A guy is gonna commit suicide, but he didn't. Why didn't he?' and crap :S |

Wednesday, March 18, 2009 8:14:50 AM Fair enough. The reason I replied to your post is because I recognized the quote and thought that you were singling me out personally. And to be honest, I never really noticed the "lol." Just forget what I said then. |

Wednesday, March 18, 2009 5:11:43 AM kids with low ages will have a higher IQ because of the formula they use to calculate it. (measly 126 here, and will drop as I get older and senile) |

Wednesday, March 18, 2009 3:34:44 AM Floyd: If you want to be pedantic:Who says I was talking to you, and not one of the other people who said the same thing? (Ryan, Monday, Tuxman, Poy, etc.) Guilty conscience? Anyway, I quoted yours as a catchall for all the others. I felt this was fair saying as you were agreeing with the guy who started with "Lol, there are 6 billion people on earth". I find it unlikely the "lol" was because he finds population figures hilarious, and much more likely that the comment was mocking something. (Either the kid or the importance of the story).

Wednesday, March 18, 2009 2:03:40 AM 99% of the people posting here saying they know their IQ are lying. I'm a Psychology major and even if you get tested, they still keep it confidential unless your a genius (like the kid in this article) or a moron with a lower than average IQ. Also yes the average is 100, but the average in society is anywhere from 85-115. They keep IQ scores confidential, because someone with an 85 IQ is really no worse off than someone with a 115 IQ. But if they got their score they wouldn't feel that way, they'd think they're dumb. tl;dr - Most of you are lying through your teeth. |

Tuesday, March 17, 2009 11:58:28 PM "What is astonishing here, is you've managed to take the number 6 billion, a number you obviously cannot comprehend, do the sums, come back with 6000, a number you can comprehend, and you think that's a lot."How did you conclude that I can't comprehend how much 6 billion is? I really would like to know how you came up with such an assumption. Anyway, I think you read too much into my comment and came up with something that was never there. I wasn't bashing the kid in any way. Did I say that IQ tests are overrated? No. Did I brag about how intelligent I am and that he isn't that smart? Nope. I was just doing the math. |

Tuesday, March 17, 2009 11:46:33 PM A photographic memory doesn't make one smart. Not saying the kid isn't intellegent, just that a good memory doesn't make you smart. |

Tuesday, March 17, 2009 9:12:02 PM There is no verifiable way to quantify a child's intelligence, especially at such a young age. Maybe not but if you give him a random date back to 2000 and he can tell you the day of the week I would say this kid is a bit more intelligent than any of us here. |

Tuesday, March 17, 2009 6:43:36 PM he may or may not be on the austistic spectrum. thats not for us to decide. just because he seems to 'sort things out' in his brain like an autistci savant it doesn't mean he is one. if he did have an ASD i'm sure someone would have picked up on it by now..seeing as he is 6 (even 'mild' autistic disorders can be picked up by age 5 due to behaviours) must say though..someone said autistic people look different facially? thats not true, not many autistic people i know look differnt from anyone else. my son has aspergers for example and you couldn't tell by looking at him...unless he was pulling a funny face at the time LOL |
