Sunday, March 15, 2009 3:34:24 PM World Quarterpipe RecordOn April 11, 2008 Simon Dumont set the current world QP height record at Sunday River in Bethel, Maine. He aired 35.5 feet out of a 38-foot QP, while performing a cork 900 tail grab. Previous attempts earlier in the week had resulted in Dumont falling 55 feet after hitting an over-vert section of the quarter-pipe. The quarter pipe was built by Snow Park Technologies and funded by Jared Livingston and Dominic Hul. I stand corrected. |

Sunday, March 15, 2009 1:21:30 PM I laugh at everyone that says that this isnt very impressive. He set the world record for quarter pipe air, doing a cork 900 35 feet into the air. "Just go watch the winter x-games if you want to see scary stuff." That skier is simon dumont. He did the big air contest at the x games and did an olson flip 1080, then he did a double front flip. Maybe next time you should figure out what ure talking about before you open your mouth |

Sunday, March 15, 2009 12:49:25 PM "snowboarding > skiing."I couldn't agree more man. I don't see why this should be so awesome...I've done more exiting things on Teh snowboard myself. |

Sunday, March 15, 2009 12:36:26 PM Wow, that person probably isn't even truly pro. I've seen better with my one eyes. Just go watch the winter x-games if you want to see scary stuff. |

Sunday, March 15, 2009 10:46:47 AM I love downhill skiing, but I go absolutely no where near jumps or parks. I can handle speed if I'm on the ground, but there is so much to worry about balance wise once you're airborne, and I can't do it.Case in point, saw a skier hit a sizeable jump a couple weeks ago. Leaned too far back and had his tips way out in front of him. Landed square on his back, binding blew out on his left ski, and the patrol had to come in and put him on a backboard. I never heard the exact injury, but it had to have been a broken back at least. That's why I have a lot of respect for guys and gals who go for big air. Seriously putting their lives at risk. |

Sunday, March 15, 2009 10:41:56 AM Wasn't that incredible. I expected a jump across a huge gap or something. And the music sucked. |
