Post-it Notes were invented by accident too. A guy at 3M with some adhesive on his hands transferred some of it onto a bit of paper and found it to be restickable. It changed literally SOME of people's lives (slightly)! |

I would also like to note that Penicillin is hardly an "invention" at all. It is simply the off chance discovery of Penicillin's antibacterial characteristics and its highly significant eventual implementation in medicine that is amazing. |

It is probably also note-worthy that Charles Goodyear is also responsible for the world's first paved runway. It was used to test his vulcanized rubber tires used on airplane landing gear.A small chunk of this runway still remains on location at the Clermont-Ferrand Auvergne Airport
in Clermont-Ferrand, France, where Goodyear tires were invented and are still manufactured. |
