Meh... you can only go so far out until the shot difficulty gets ridiculous and more luck than talent. Let's say they put a 4 point line 30 feet away, even. Nobody would ever take those, unless they needed a miracle -- making them useless. That's like making a hail mary touchdown worth 10 points or something. Your bonus for getting lucky is that you're all over Sportscenter all night. Cool shot though. |

The problem with making these shots worth more is that alot of the guys that can make like 80% 3-pointers are also going to be above 50% 4-pointers. |

It's no different than when they made the 3-point shot rule. In fact, this shot is much harder.

That's my hometown back in Ohio. How weird to see that on here, and on ESPN's top 10. A local news team went to their practice the next day to interview him and he hit the same shot again for fun. Who knows how many takes they had to do, but I can't imagine they would have taped him for more than a couple. |
