I think Asimo can't move like that because these robots have pre-programmed actions which they perform when a specific button is pressed. If they tried to walk on stairs, or on uneven ground, they would fall over. Asimo has to use cameras to recognize the terrain its walking on, then do some complex maths to walk out how to walk without falling over. |
