Sunday, March 08, 2009 5:26:07 AM I play many varieties of games, probably around 3 hours a day on weekdays, and at least 6 hours on weekends. I'd never do anything like that. It's stupid.I think hearing about people doing this stuff gives more of a motive for killing people than playing video games does. Someone should make a video game that's like EXTREMELY realistic. Like, decent blood/gore effects, really inaccurate guns, and if you die once, you fail and can never play the game again. It'd prove the difference between video games and reality VERY clearly. P.S. Lionhart, I pity you. I have played Runescape myself for a time, but there are sooooo many better games. Especially if you are paying for Runescape. Download a game, it'll be 10x better than Runescape. Or if you can't download something, buy a game like Guildwars. Or if you don't want to spend money, play a game like Quake Live (browser based FPS) |

Sunday, March 08, 2009 5:04:48 AM OK so I play RuneScape about 3 hours per day, and I'm roughly 32,500th of 135 million people, which is waaay up there and I've done just about everything you can do in it, for only 3 hours a day... so HOW THE HELL do you end up spending so much time on a video game you die from it??? What are these people DOING that they can't get off their butts once in a while? |

Saturday, March 07, 2009 11:28:04 PM there can be 100 people in a room: one crazy person, and 99 educated people, yet everyone who were to enter that room would notice the crazy person first. Metaphors... YAY!

Saturday, March 07, 2009 11:07:42 PM I play about 5 hours a day, 4 days a week (ish) I would play more, but having a job and social life sometimes gets in the way.I never considered taking a video game to real life. The graphics are good, but you don't get continues or save points. Also, the cop stars add up way too quick and the vehicles have like, no health, you crash into one tree at 75Mph and you're screwed. I really don't get why video games are blamed at all for someone's behavior. The person does the crime, not the video game. Where they get their inspiration from is irrelevant. God damn I hate humanity sometimes....I can't express it. |

Saturday, March 07, 2009 11:03:30 PM "these tards give us hardcore gamers a bad image."I completely agree. I play the games because they offer an entertaining alternative to reality... The alternative sometimes being a medieval knight, a plumber, a gangster, etc... All things we usually couldn't do in real life, when video games are taken too seriously, real bad things can happen. Parents, please. Monitor what your kids play, don't let them play games they shouldn't...but for the love of life, don't blame video games for screwing up your kids when you're entirely the one to blame for letting him think it's real. Also, a friend of mine allowed his 8YO son to play GTA Vice City, and when he asked his son why he was killing people, the son answered "They are bad guys, they have to die, but it's just a video game daddy" Excellent parenting. He also never lets him play it without supervision. |

Saturday, March 07, 2009 5:30:26 PM i say ppl need more self control, i play violent video games, for some reason they are the funnest. but i absolutely hate hurting anything that doesnt deserve it (i.e. self defense, defense of others). i even hate killing little creepy crawlies, thus i often let them live. after all, everything wants to live, or it would stop trying. |

Saturday, March 07, 2009 5:10:33 PM Opiebreath- so buddy didn't just "go away on holiday" then...?Also, yeah, none of these deaths were caused by video games themselves, just mentally-unstable people. If anyone hasn't figured that out yet *cough* Jack Thompson *cough* |

Saturday, March 07, 2009 3:54:11 PM I see not one death caused by video games. I see ten deaths caused by people being dumb animals who are subject to raw emotions and nothing more. |

Saturday, March 07, 2009 3:05:33 PM there have actually been studies that show that violent video games only create violent behavior in people who are already mentally unstable. however i still have a problem with gta. |

Saturday, March 07, 2009 2:52:03 PM i think "Top 10 Deaths" is kind of insensitive, personally, but it's the internet, so I guess anything goes. |

Saturday, March 07, 2009 1:46:34 PM If it weren't games, for these people it would be road rage, or drugs, or someone cutting in front of them in the cafeteria. Just because the games were the catalyst doesn't mean these people aren't crazy in the first place. |
