Oh, and to the people bitching about how the captain is such a meanie-head:

Yelling is actually a very effective tool for training. Don't ask me why or how, but it seems to be working so far. For those unused to it, it's extremely harsh and possibly frightening (or angering). But after a while, you become inundated to it, and it works as a great motivator--and not necessarily in a negative sense.

"When do American Police stage raids on military targets? (Not SWAT teams, I'm talking regular police, which these guys obviously are)."

While I can understand the use of "military target," to me it's more akin to a meth lab or a gang den. There's an unknown amount of hostiles in a certain location, and they need to be taken care of. While these may be your average Joe Cop, how do you think specialists (SWAT, FBI, etc) are created? Watching it done over and over and over? No, your average Joe gets specific training--much like I'd imagine the Army is doing with the police--then gains experience.

I'm not suggesting we throw neophytes at a terrorist den, or whatever the hell the captain wants to go after, I would imagine that by this point in time they've got SOME idea of what they need to do.

I'm glad such men are soldiers. They would make terrible short order cooks. The Man is a Fighter. He's a warrior and combat is what he's programmed to do. He's not a negotiator, he's not an empath. he's a killer and this is how he chooses to carry himself. I would expect the Police in my City to be willing to fight and die to protect me from malefactors and this Solider expects the same of these Police Men. They cannot hide and be meek, not if Iraq will be out from under the cloud that hangs over it. Everyone has gotten hung up on his words and completely missed his message.

Groogle, you got any sort of military training? im realy sure he don't mean it. well maybe he do, but i know he as a person and not a captain would use these words. what he is doing there is motivating them into "getting their poo togetter". k? dont call him raceist. why on earth would you call him raceist? this got little todo with races at all. he's talking about how the Iraq police arnt doing their job and how much n00b they are. sort to speak.

allot of the time, ppl comment on military and police actions, saying what they're doing is irrational and just not well thought trough. Army got training. police got training. training on phsycology and how to treat ppl to get control. it all has a point and its not just senseless violence. ppl, please get off the podium and stop pointing fingers. i think that allot of times when things get out of control, its the "victims" fault. and i ofc know there are just cases where stupidity is invovled. but i

How does he know that the translator isn't making it sound like he is saying "I like smelly men" or something to that degree?

Just wondering

The sad reality is that this US captain really means every word he's saying.

Racist asshat.

Lionhart2, sorry to miss most of the debate. I appreciate your disgusted with Nazism and perhaps it is part of my own life experience why I disagree with you strongly again. Nazi's are real, are active today globally & there horrific actions should always be remembered so the horrific deeds of the past do not repeat themselves in the future. We have had our share of global atrocities in recent history that have not had the attention of the world as there victims deserved. I also disagree how the coalition went to war with Iraq & the justification given for it. Regardless of the spin the coalition invaded under non-compliance of UN mandates under the terms of surrender accepted by Iraq. The UN was created to prevent nations like fascist Germany from causing a global conflict by creating some sort of international law. Iraq broke those terms & mandates therefore the coalition under the US lead had total justification to re-invade Iraq.

To respond to your question "...Germany invaded a sovereign country because of alleged aggression and then occupied it, recruiting its people to their cause and siphoning its resources. That's how WW2 started. How does that differ from what the US did to Iraq?" Well, Sadam had in several public speeches in full military uniform declared war on the United States of America. Under the US Constitution this alone gives the President the authority to act in defense of the US. The insane amount of money spent by our governments to rebuild Iraq as an independent sovereign has played a significant role in not only our to two nations economic downturn but, most of the world. To say the invasion was to exploit Iraq's resources well, we failed real bad if that was the goal.

Germany declared war on the whole of Europe and was attempting global domination while killing of those viewed as less then the master race. The invasion and re-invasion of Iraq were both legal under international law where Germany, even for it's time was in violation of it's own treaties & established international law.
I think we share a similar distaste tyrannical government interventions, be it our own or a foreign one. A key flaw in your Mexican comparison is that we have had Americans commit criminal acts in Mexico & we have a proven extradition process between our nations that has been used both ways. Something you may not realize is that Mexican police and army continually cross US borders illegally to support drug & other illegal activities & it's just a matter of time until US police or border patrol is forced to respond.

This reminds me of [American] football practice, coach acts like an a**hole until you get the play right. Honestly, no matter how much I hate it, it makes me so much better. It is best to get someone to fear and respect you, rather than you respecting them. If you let them feel too comfortable, they won't want to respect or listen to you.

And isn't this how the American soldiers are treated in their training?

"Of course, mrwnt, of course, Iraq had WMD's. I'm sure that's the only reason it was invaded, and obviously it's a justified reason. So why don't we go in order from lower to higher and topple these other countries, all with WMD's
North Korea, Pakistan, India, Israel, China, France, United Kingdom, Russia and finally United States
Hypocrisy much?"

Sometimes people amaze me with their lack of critical thinking. None of the countries you listed are being led by a mass murderer who has gassed his own people to death by the thousands. The reason why Saddam having WMDs was unacceptable is the same reason why Ahmadinejad having a nuke is unacceptable.

You're smarter than that. Come on

I don't know if Lionhart2 is still reading these, but saying that the Nazi's should be wiped from history and never mentioned again is just as bad as what Stalin did by changing history books to make him look like a god. Just because something bad happened doesn't mean we should forget about it. For if we forget, how do we learn from our mistakes and prevent them from happenening again?

All I can say is WWII. Remember that? You can critisize us as much as you want, but that doesn't change the fact that every last one of you sorry bastards is in debt to America. When you guys man up and save our entire continent from a horrible dictatorship then we'll call it even.

<<if Russia tried invading us, we would destroy them [...] I'm pretty sure that our technological and military might are why the Indians are on the reservations now>>

Ah, the good old law of the strongest. At least on that point, we didn't evolve much from cavemen.

"Luckily its not a lasting effect and as long as you're not low on HP you should make it."

Few, I was worried I wasn't going to make it there Doc. My bloods back down to a mere simmer now, I think the worst of it's over!
