Saturday, February 28, 2009 1:42:43 PM My problem with them is when it's to sign up for a site or something. Especially a site that requires like 1 capital, number, and lowercase 2 symbols a space and a minimum of 15 characters long (Exaggerating but meh <.< )and won't let you fit your real name in the blank or have dashes in it or let you have underscores in your email (Those ones are not exaggerating) and then after you change your typically information and can't fill that thing and click refresh to get an easier one it refreshes the entire page and makes you fill out all of the form again.Just as a kicker it could give you a harder one after. |

Saturday, February 28, 2009 7:08:10 AM I like to use a question for my sites, along with the image. Something like "What's 2 plus 8?". That along with a run of the mill captcha, seems to keep out 99% of the robots. |

Saturday, February 28, 2009 6:07:09 AM Ivar2112, there's a lot of software available to read plain characters without distortion. So yeah, an image is definitely better than asking someone to repeat some plain text, but hardcore hackers could easily bypass an undistorted image. In short, the distortion is saving you from getting a hell of a lot more spam. |

Saturday, February 28, 2009 5:51:57 AM why do they have to make the characters so weird in shape, if they just show them normal, it would be just as good, as long as it is an image and not a text... |

Saturday, February 28, 2009 1:02:29 AM I'm sure being able to read those letters is impressive somewhere, so cut nerd rage some slack. It's not easy when you have no real skills. |

Friday, February 27, 2009 9:28:17 PM I just ran it through my OCR software and its "eumetorap" ... which sort of means it fails as an anti-bot device, if my OCR can read it and I can't. Then again, my OCR has been trained to read my boss' handwriting over 5 years, so it can probably read ANYTHING now! |

Friday, February 27, 2009 8:43:10 PM Omigoodness, I swear one time all I saw was a bunch of morse code. I think Myspace makes you enter in braille though, so this really isn't all that bad when you think about it. |
