Has anyone here seen 'Drop Dead, Gorgeous?'I was born in southern CA, and I was a pageant girl for a while when I was little. Oh God.
Luckily, I was much too fond of playing with bugs and climbing trees to stay with that b.s. |

they look weird with makeup and i think the moms are weird to put little kids up on a stage to have stranders stare at them.. XP |

ugh little kids shouldn't wear makeup for one..
I think pageants are fine IF, they went as their age not some little girl in makeup, fake tans etc. |

Im glad my mum never put me through something like that. Id have made a complete t*t of myself in front of maybe 10000 people, and therefore been even shyer than I already was.
As for competing, hell, we need to be educing that not trying to make life harder for the poor kiddies. |

I like the concept of competing.
I think that's what makes America great: small town folk vs big city goers, poor hardworking person vs upper class snob, etc. |

i have watched a show like this before and i think it is beyond the point of being ok.
these parents don't need to live out their once dreams of being in a pageant and were not successful.
these kids will forever be damaged(hopefully not).
to the parents: shame on you! |

I dislike these pageants, one the kids don't even look like kids... two these kids arent even having fun. oh they think they are having fun because their parents brainwashed them into thinking that is what fun is... errr /rambles and shakes fist |

Yes of course because there is no better parenting technique than to teach your kids that it doesn't matter how you feel about yourself, it matters how other people feel about you. Maybe they can use the prize money on family therapy? |

The title is sick. And these mothers (and a few fathers, natch) need counseling to see just how demented they are, and what dreadful values they are teaching these little girls (and boys, and babies even). |
