for all the people worried about how this little girl is fat. she has had two kidney transplants. the rejection medication causes the weight gain. to be so petty as to mention that in the wake of everything this girl faces everyday is terrible and childish. |

@Cunegonde: Do some research you idiot. At the time of this documentary (March 2008) Shiloh had recently undergone her 2nd kidney transplant. Up until that point, due to her only kidney malfunctioning it had been very hard to get any weight to stay on her. Now, the kidney is thriving as is she and for the first time in her life she is putting on weight - meaning she is now healthy enough to consider leg separation surgery if she wants. Obviously she can't run around like other little girls, meaning her only form of excerise is swimming, which she can now do more often thanks to a specially-adapted wetsuit. She is on a controlled diet (her parents are partaking too) and is continuing to thrive as a happy 9-yr-old.Which you would have known had you actually watched the docu rather than make stupid facile judgements. |

For those of you wondering about the voiding her bowels thing ... She's got to wear what I think is called a ostomy pouching system (i.e. little bags that collect the urine and feces and regularly need to be emptied by her parents)? She's got a show on TLC or something that I've watched afew times. |

Is it wrong that I'm more grossed out by how fat that kid is than by her deformity? I mean come on the kid's got enough problems already without being a freaking LOAD. Her parents oughta be ashamed of themselves. |

Wow. If she has no bladder or rectum, how does she rid herself of the food and liquid she consumes? I don't mean to sound messed up, but I could assume that from her size, maybe her body just takes it all in and since it isn't being used for energy, it just turns into fat. Because otherwise, like said in the video, she would die. Poor girl. |

She has two bags attached to holes in her sides (about where her hips are)... sort of like diapers. That's how the excrement leaves the body. They are changed once a day. Wouldn't you like that job? |
