I personally don't care what you call because both the words soccer and football were invented in England. Soccer is just a short form of association, from association football. So calling it soccer is just old fashioned not really wrong as such. We did of course invent the biggest, most popular sport in the world and the variations of it such as American Football, Rugby (which we also invented of course) and Australian Rules are just branches of our wonderful invention. :D |

Footy is what we hardcore australians play, and it gets confising over here so we call it soccer. But when you go to another country, THERE IS NO DOUBT. and america also, what are the odds of someone talking about soccer of that padded up pussy version of AFL/Rugby? (whcih is great to watch) |

1) Australians call Australian Football, Football. Even if you win on that argument, American Football still ain't football. America + Australia gold medals = ~1000.
Everyone who calls it football = ~6000. Come on. Make the only truthful argument you can possibly make: I really really really want it to be called soccer, please let me have this, it's all I have. |
