In response to "Dubai's oil money".
Dubai's economy is 6% oil. In response to "Dubai Racism", how about you look up "Canada Racism". Yes, putting in two words in google, gets you a result that's an amalgamation of those words. Well done. In response to "Who would want to visit", 2 million tourists a year actually. It makes us more money than the oil you seem to think we have. Rape is acceptable here? Really? When here it's the death penalty and USA it's an average of a 3 year sentence? We blame the victim because of 1 court case?
Well then I guess Britain and Australia do too. You know absolutely nothing of the life here, the people here, the culture here, the laws here. |

Why does he have to live up there? I find it hard to believe that it takes that long to get down now to make it worth it unless he is working 20 hour days or something. |

Running out of oil wont reduce their wealth, they have been building up a shipping empire, with super-ports around the world with the largest in Dubai. They have also turned Dubai into a tourist hotspot. They, like Norway invested their oil wealth for the long term benefit of the country! |

Too bad America doesn't have so many more Hoover Dam or Sears Tower's left up its sleeve. The only real bad thing about the pic is the ugliness of having one single building in a city way taller than the rest (the rest isn’t even a lot of buildings). Cheers though to that country. Probably mostly European or Chinese Tourists.. |

Why would anyone want to go there? Remember the girl who was gang raped and they charged her for the crime. Or what about the couple who kissed on the beach and they put them in jail. Don't go there if your a women. If you are raped its your fault. oh..on the pic..that is crazy------- Touria Tiouli was held in prison for 5 days and then placed under house arrest for 6 months. Not ideal I know but the normal Dubai sentence is 18 months in prison and in most Islamic countries its death by stoning. As for the British couple arrested for kissing on the beach, they were having full sex on the beach and quite frankly deserved it. They'd have got done for it in most Westernised countries, never mind an Islamic one. Never mind Dubai's attitude to sex, look up its attitude to drugs, google grooverider Dubai. It is a nice pic though. |

Thats true, I heard of the racism in the Middle East in general, didn't realise that it was so pervasive in Dubai. Although I did hear about the citizenship thing. Is it really sustainable to only have 2% of Dubai as citizens though? |
