Monday, February 02, 2009 10:01:37 PM lmao TKD. TWICE! even though it was a fictional book made into a fictional movie, didn't anyone learn that the idea of cloning dinosaurs, like in Jurassic Park, IS A REALLY BAD ONE? |

Monday, February 02, 2009 2:23:19 PM I understand cloning stuff we killed, (see dodo, tasmanian tiger, etc.) but it should stop there. I'm going to take the Ian Malcolm stance and say we shouldn't bring back things that we didn't kill, more power to the ibex thing, though. |

Monday, February 02, 2009 1:11:01 PM beternal, we already know that whenever something is cloned it will die. thanks for reminding us of the fact that YES, EVERY LIVING THING IS MORTAL. i don't think we could've known without you. it's not a half-and-half mix, it's just put into a goats body with ibex mother and father cells. they do it with people all the time. dad's sperm, mom;s eggs but put it into another body. they're just handing out PhD's now, aren't they? |

Monday, February 02, 2009 1:13:21 AM Doing my PhD in genetics... this is all a waste of time right now! Notice how they are putting the DNa into goats?! - that is they're hoping they can recombine (effectively means to cross) a goats DNa with an ibex. Basically means we'll get something half and half.Everything that has ever been resurrected has died, everything that has been cloned has died. It's more trouble than its worth! And the others are right, DNa has a very short shelf-life. There has been so much degredation over time, dinosaurs will never be brought back. At the very most, you'll end up with a hybrid thing that might look like a larger crocodile/ komodo dragon |

Sunday, February 01, 2009 8:31:33 PM Going to do a little Crystal Balling here....I seen that in the future "Beware of Dog" signs will be replaced by "Beware of Dinosaur" signs....and shortly after that the USPS comes to a grinding halt due to a lack of Mail Men/Women to deliver mail....due to being eaten. |

Sunday, February 01, 2009 7:59:31 PM It's good to know mankind is trying to fix the horrible drat ups they've made all their existence.Sadly, it will probably also be used to make more humans. That's just what we need. |

Sunday, February 01, 2009 6:34:27 PM jumper4saken, you're right. There is DNA in bone marrow, but there is no bone marrow in fossils anymore. Remember that fossils are "rock-ified" bone...it's just rock in the shape of bone.Actually, there's even DNA in bones (bones have cells! :D). And Hansbo, I'm not a paleontologist, and my expertise goes as far as Jurassic Park, but there might be legitimacy to the "extracting dinosaur blood from mosquitos preserved in amber" technique. ...maybe... ? |

Sunday, February 01, 2009 6:10:19 PM It takes thousands/millions of years for our ecosystem to absorb the niches that were lost by the extinction of an animal/animals. |

Sunday, February 01, 2009 3:02:16 PM My policy is sure resurrect species we killed recently and introduce them to their old homes but only bring back dinos and woolly mammoths for studying.Oh Opie I define recently as in the last 200-300 years because otherwise the ecosystem should have adapted around the animals lost. |

Sunday, February 01, 2009 2:53:30 PM They're also trying to clone a tasmanian devil (no kidding here, because the tasmanian devil isn't just a cartoon) since they found one of them. Damn intresting if it works. |
