I find people who write in print less intelligent than me. Its stupid, it has no personality. Its simple to the point that its almost dumb. Hmmm. Its my opinion though lol --------------- Some of the most intelligent people I've met have terrible handwriting, not handwritting as you spelled it. For instance, Ron Paul's signature looks like that of an 8-year-old and my geometry teacher had terrible handwriting. However, both are very smart people. |

Your profile says 13-17 so you're likely a high-schooler; obviously a *very* intelligent high-schooler. Either way, to Hell with cursive. The only thing I use it for is my signature. |

Tuesday, January 27, 2009 11:08:41 PM I could never write in cursive print. It annoyed the hell out of me when I was forced to write that way because it wasn't even readable. |

Tuesday, January 27, 2009 8:15:49 PM As an artist, I value anything on paper and to me Cursive is another art form, almost like Calligraphy. I was taught cursive when I was little, and even though I hated it at the time, I love now. It has a better flow to it than print and can easily be written without having to lift up the pencil too often. It's true it's not used that often, but I know for a fact that all signatures are supposed to be in cursive. What happens to that if we stop teaching this way of writing? Wouldn't it be easier for identities to be stolen, for a persons handwriting to be copied? Print is much, much easier to duplicate than cursive, I know this from experience. Just to keep in practice, I'll write in my journal or do a random school paper in cursive. It's also a nice let out for stress since letters flow beautifully and it doesn't have all the harsh angles in it that print does. I miss assignments that in cursive, not everyone's handwriting is turning to chicken scratch. There's no disapline. |

Tuesday, January 27, 2009 4:46:52 PM elementary school without cursive seems weird to me...i learned in second grade and used it for all my writing up until about fifth grade...writing in cursive seems like a right of passage to me, but maybe that's because my school kind of overdid it |

Tuesday, January 27, 2009 4:41:19 PM All of these comments are freaking me out. I write only in "cursive" (around here it's just called handwriting..) and just about everybody I know does too. I thought it was like the natural evolution of learning how to print? The world is a weird place.. |

Tuesday, January 27, 2009 8:58:02 AM I like writing in cursive, quite possibly because my cursive is easier to read than when I print... Handwriting is surely a dying art. I'm usually one to vote for change in the classrooms, but I think they should keep this in the curriculum. |

Tuesday, January 27, 2009 3:03:38 AM Never had to learn it. We had to learn to write neatly, but that was it. Didn't always work, though! |

Tuesday, January 27, 2009 12:43:51 AM Cursive is hard to write, and even harder to read. It's about time it was pushed aside. |

Monday, January 26, 2009 11:39:53 PM When I took the SATs, you had to recopy this thing saying you wouldn't cheat and whatnot, and it said to recopy it in cursive, and it was literally 1 maybe 2 sentences and it took some kids 20 minutes when it took me 20 seconds. I'm not exaggerating, we sat in that room for 20 minutes while waiting for the kid to write. |

Monday, January 26, 2009 9:03:03 PM Cursive is an annoying necessity, some documents and stuff require it. I used to love cursive because it's a lot quicker to write than just printing. However, I stopped when I realized my cursive was very hard to read. |

Monday, January 26, 2009 7:15:24 PM Aw, I love cursive. Much faster than print. IMO students should learn how to write in cursive before learning print. -------------------Go to hell cursive writer. |
