simple gear system. Assuming no slipping the big wheel will rotate (large distance on ruler)and the small wheel will also rotate at the same rev/sec (low distance on the ground since the spool has a smaller circumference than the big wheel)No tricks. |

Kretain, look carefully: the ruler really does move to the right when he says it does. If you don't believe me, follow the ruler on screen with your finger. While the ruler moves to the right relative to the ground, it moves to the left relative to the cart. |

Because the little wheels are easier to turn than the big one, the ruler just pushes the entire car thing to the right and the small wheels turn. The big one turning the wrong way is just a side effect of that. |
