The hypothesis was that with heavy fog, you don't very many visual cues for speed (since you can't really see things passing by your car very well), so you don't really notice how fast you are going. And for all of you being racist douchebags: most massive car pileups like this happen in our very own USA. I mostly hear of them happening in the south where it is really flat, humid, and foggy, but a quick google search for "massive car pileup fog" shows 100-200+ car crashes in California, Wisconsin, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, etc., etc.)"mmmm how about an speedometer, would that let you know how fastyour going???? geez i dunn, back to basics people, and asians live in those states too |

Saturday, January 10, 2009 2:12:54 AM These people actually know how to drive under dangerous conditions like this. The only serious impact was from the white compact, other than that the buses did very well to avoid hitting head on, like that green bus who swerved to the rail. |

Saturday, January 10, 2009 12:13:51 AM are we sure this is actually fog and not just some industrial smog cloud? if it was fog i dont think people would have been able to break so quickly given the precipitation. (those who actually tried to break anyways) |

Friday, January 09, 2009 4:42:10 PM You always hear about rock stars and other musicians dying in tour bus crashes. Let's just hope one of those busses wasnt the tour bus of Asian Louis Armstrong impersonator from yesterday. Holy Godzilla, he was good! |

No one knows where anyone is going."You know aust4beer, that's probably the most racist comment so far on this page...lets see who trumps that... You don't want us to get started on how good or bad drivers in the West are now do you? |

Friday, January 09, 2009 1:33:01 PM "The officials are the ones to blame, why stop traffic in heavy fog"... For fun? Either that or maybe they had a reason for sending 15 policemen down to close a major highway? Perhaps a serious accident had already occurred further down, perhaps the road was flooded, perhaps one of the major tunnels it goes through is currently on fire. In other news, you should be able to avoid stationary objects while driving. There is never an excuse for hitting something that isn't moving. If you do, it's your fault. |
