I live in Ann Arbor, right by Brighton. I bypassed this link yesterday, but then I heard about it today and was like "HOLY drat".

"The actual ordinance, reads very much like, 'dont be a douchebag'"

Kinda of how I read it too... Fancylad and the Mods would concur with this ordinance. The news article omitted way too much poo.

In no way does this law take your 1st admentment rights.

Anyone who thinks otherwise should go to this town and get fined $500. ;)

people are a bunch of cry babies now a days being annoyed is a part of life deal with it. People complain and whine too much if something hurts their little feelings.

Oh, imagine the possibilities with this one.

"itsdrew's comment says 1st... hmm..."

xD
Oh, HOLYCRAP is too funnay.
Hrm, there seems to be a lot of people on here who are just fifteen minutes from Brighton. Maybe I should drive around for fiteen minutes. Perhaps I'll bump into it.

"So, can you still fart in public?"

I think that's ALWAYS going to be legal. Just as long as you blame the poor loser next to you.

I feel that law should only apply to things everyone aggrees is annoying.
...such as upper-middle class white kids acting like they're the ghettoist, most impoverished gangsters to have ever been spawned.

Wow, so how are the cops going to do their jobs? They might as well ticket themselves.

The comments on the page were kind of funny. (They always take that order though.)

There goes another one of our freedoms as Americans...*sigh* This will most likely be overturned soon. There's no way they can possibly enforce this. How can you prove someone was annoying? 'Annoying' is open to interpretation. For all you know, you could be ticketed for STARING at someone. Give me a break!

I live about 30 miles away from Brighton.
I told my Dad, well, we're can't go their anymore. My whole family would end up in trouble.
I don't see how this obvious piece of garbage law can be passed, though. I guess it's just the government trying to take away more of my rights. The Bill of Rights specifically gives me the right to be annoying... kind of.

"A city attorney says there could be situations where the measure would violate freedom of speech, but that those cases will be reviewed by the city."

Better be a damn small city for them to have enough time. It's likely that every case could violate freedom of speech and the various clauses... this just sounds like it's going to be incredibly messy for the courts.
