Friday, December 19, 2008 11:43:07 AM How long after release before it stuffs a lazy unappreciative house wife in the dryer? wasn't this the buildup to iRobot? |

Thursday, December 18, 2008 11:35:44 PM Lion, that news is amazing, I can't even begin to understand how incredible it would feel to have that. You're a lucky man and she's a lucky woman. |

Thursday, December 18, 2008 1:39:41 PM I already have a dishwashing robot, she even has a vacuuming mode and a bedroom duties mode... (dodges volley of flying erasers)Update for those who knew why I've been mostly away this last week - my sister came out of the coma last Monday despite doctors telling us she only had hours to live, regained colour and strength over the next few days, and was released yesterday back home. She'll have dialysis the rest of her life but she is alive, which is 99% better than last Monday's prediction. |

Thursday, December 18, 2008 12:03:08 PM have the japanese people not read science fiction books? ROBOTS CAN NOT BE TRUSTED. I'll probably be assassinated for saying that in the future by a ninja robot. |

Thursday, December 18, 2008 10:59:30 AM It's more efficient to use robots... Humans may have an absolute advantage in dishwashing (so far), but a robot has a lower opportunity cost (there's nothing else it could be doing, whereas there's LOTS of other things I could be doing). So the robot has a comparitive advantage, and it's advantageous to let the robot do the dishes. Jesus, I hated microeconomics. Still looks like it needs to be, uh, tweaked, though. If people weren't so hung up on making machines look like humans, I think it'd be better... |

Thursday, December 18, 2008 10:04:52 AM It takes a hell of a lot more than that to clean dishes in my house. Like scrubbing? |

Thursday, December 18, 2008 9:54:25 AM Good lord, robots are the worst. I hate robots, they are inefficient and slow, why would we use them? It's not hard at all to wash somedishes. In other news, I am very excited to say that I have a snowday with 24 inches of snow...Holy shat! |
