I'm pretty sure they race tandems in the paralympics because the person on the back is blind so it might be a bit freaky if he can't see what's going on

no the bikes in velos almost never have brakes (its completely useless) and yeah I doubt it hurt at all, the back guy was just protecting his head. this was kind of boring to be honest

these bikes don't have brakes, do they? I thought I heard that and I couldn't see any brakes anyway. It would probably also be too much extra weight. And they could still have clipped out before falling, but they were probably going too fast, it was probably better to just wait till it slowed down, which unfortunately it didn't. I don't think it hurt very much, though, they just didn't move immediately after the bike stopped moving, they were probably just like "ugh, that was annoying, I'll get up in a minute, whatever." Also I don't think you're supposed to start moving right after you fall on a bike that you're clipped into.

racing Bicycles have your shoes locked into the pedals so when you fall, outch...And finally, Someone without Chicken legs....

I am guessing that they couldn't really go anywhere because there feet were clipped into the pedals. I don't think we get to see enough of the video for us to really see what the aftermath is...oh and sometimes falling on a bicycle doesn't hurt it's just really shocking because you don't expect it.

I'm thinking this was a sport that HAD to be dreamed up by a homo. I can only assume that the riders draw straws to see who has to be the guy in the back who gets to smell the sweaty butt crack of the guy in front of him. Fail.

"why wouldn't they make those kinds of bicycles with farther seats?"

It's more aerodynamic like that, so they can go faster.

do you really have to be that close to the other guys ass? why wouldn't they make those kinds of bicycles with farther seats? after they fell, were they crying or laughing? so many questions...
