Monday, December 08, 2008 9:25:12 PM "I don't get why everyone is so impressed with the mantis shrimp" Well, mantis shrimp both have one of the most complex eyes in the animal kingdom to the point where they actually process some information in their eyes and the ability to move their claws so fast that they create cavitation bubbles that reach temperatures in excess of several thousand kelvin. That amount of energy ensures that even if they miss hitting their prey physically, the shock wave from the cavitation bubble will usually kill/stun them. Those insane facts and the fact they look like zerg defilers from Star Craft makes them hardcore. |
