Sunday, November 16, 2008 5:01:31 AM How is this a world record? Just because it was a dive? I remembered just a few years ago a man floated over niagra falls on his back and survived.. so I had to go find the article:http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2003... Thats a 173 foot fall.. |

Saturday, November 15, 2008 6:40:51 PM Kind of a long story, but... I was on a canoeing trip once with my Boy Scout troop once and we ran across a bunch of little waterfalls. (They were probably only about five feet tall.) So, we found out that as soon as you sat down at the edge, the water would catch you and pull you in. They eventually convinced me to try it, and the moment I sat down, I was sucked away at a high speed. Then, after I made it to the end, I was pulled under water. It felt like an eternity under there, although it was probably less than 10 seconds. I was unable to get my head above the water until after it was done pulling me. Then, the current was so strong that I couldn't swim back in. So, one of my friends swam out to help me, but neither of us could make it. We were pulling each other under. A third friend came out, and it just added to our panic. Luckily we had a lifeguard there to pull us back in. Otherwise, I know that none of us would have been able to make it back in. So |
