i hate fakers. i teach chemistry and these balls are a super absorbent polymer. Check here:

this is sometimes marketed as "watersorb" (check ebay) or you can buy it in coloured bead form here:
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sk...
(my students adored them) They CANNOT be made in the method outlined here, but i guess ignorant losers have nothing better to do than pollute the web with useless crap like this and try to mislead those that are interested in finding out the truth

yosemine, i also lurked on i-a-b for a few years before joining, since u can view without joining. took a few years b4 i felt strongly enough about something to actually sign up so i could comment.
o and i also call shenanigans on this, eventhough i wish it was real. that would be cool.

So, you gave us a link the same video. I don't get it. And, I'm pretty sure those are bath beads, because, if you look into the water closely @ around 2:10, you can see them floating around. But, if someone can actually do this and make it work, major kudos to you. I'm pretty sure there would have to be a bit more to it than this. If you Google "water beads", you'll find many people trying to recreate this and they point out what is wrong about the video. I'd recommend seeing what they have to say if you really want to do this experiment.

I think this is a very cute video. I'm sure that these boys had fun making it! For those who try to use their tips, I feel sorry for. They will nvr figure it out, lol...

Yes, bath beads... Lavender scented most likely, as the water was tinted purple at the end.

I wonder how many people are going to actually try this to only find out that it's a fake video...those are obviously either bath beeds, or salt beeds.

nice try though.

@Slade8: "And I still think a water powered car COULD be done, only the video was fake. I mean, what is water? Oxygen and Hydrogen, right? Now, are those flammable? Yes? Right...."

You fail your second law of thermodynamics. Yes, burning oxygen and hydrogen releases energy, and... turns them into water. To get that water back separated back into hydrogen and oxygen you need to put the same amount of energy back in.

Just wanted to point out that those of you who are calling those of us, "stupid," or making fun of us for not figuring it out, you now have proof that you're a genius. Congrats.
