And this is an example of why jail is a bullpoo way to discipline anyone. If this boy is tried as an adult, just what kind of man do you think he's going to emerge as? It's not hard to figure out when you consider that he'll spend his time sitting in a cell learning nothing, but how to get along with the criminals he's caged with.This boy should be in intensive therapy while there's still a chance to save him, not jail. Jail at this point would be little better than a death sentence for this confused child. |

look if this kids dad was beating on his wife or maybe even his kids he got what he deserved and hooray for this kid for acting....unless youve been in a abusive relationship u wont agree but I have and I say good riddance!!!"i thought I was the only one who had read and made notice of that :D And I too have been there so I know how messed up it gets and how secretive it is D; |

They shouldn't put him in jail but in intense psychiatric care until his brain is more fully developed. He still has a lot of growing to do. Putting him in a jail is just forcing him to grow in an environment that will most certainly create him to be a criminal for the rest of his life. Do you silly people forget that he is 8 and has a lot more growing to do? Those of you here that are even 15 still are really impressionable. Our early years are what shapes us to be the people we are going to turn into. Try to get him help if he did indeed do this. There is still a chance he didn't do this since at first he denied it and then after police intimidation without a lawyer or parent around he confessed, which is illegal. They didn't even explain to him his rights which I doubt a kid at that age could understand what rights even are. |

the kid deserves at least some punishment though, just giving him counseling isn't right. heh, wouldn't it be funny if he shot his dad because he thought he was hurting his friend? >.> my great grandpa used to tell me when he was 8 or 9, i forgot, he used to go out hunting with his dad almost every sunday before church. |
