Sunday, November 09, 2008 5:22:47 PM Now the Christians know how all the witches, ghosts, Mario & Luigi, and ninjas feel when people dress up as them! |

Wednesday, November 05, 2008 6:13:57 PM i understand them sending him home because he was a distraction, b/c well... he probably was. as for offensiveness....people should just get over it. he wasn't trying to be offensive, he just thought his hair went with it, and plus you don't see wiccan's bitching about everyone dressing up as evil old witches every year do you? |

Tuesday, November 04, 2008 9:58:38 AM " how is the devil less offensive than jesus christ,?i see a lot of kids as the devil and i dont see them getting in trouble" Well, if you think about it, dressing as jesus would sort of "vilify" him seeing it's the day of ghouls and demons and watnot. Also, that's making him sound like a joke to some, by dressing as him. I don't really get offended, but you have to think a bit outside your little cubicles to see how others may react. Not everybody thinks the same way But booting him outta school was harsh, it was Halloween, who cares... |

Tuesday, November 04, 2008 9:35:03 AM i don't see what the big deal is. senior year a guy dressed as jesus complete with a big cross and crown of thorns. some people didn't like it, but nothing happened. and i live in a severely catholic city in kentucky, if that tells you anything... |

Monday, November 03, 2008 1:30:56 PM to noodlez comment. it says that he celebrated his barmitvah. isnt that a contradiction of you saying he is expressing his religious beleifs. i just think it was for a laugh, whoever gets offended by things like these needs to lighten up a bit. |

Monday, November 03, 2008 1:29:36 PM Maybe a second kid dressed like pat robertson could have led him around on a dog leash. |

Monday, November 03, 2008 10:38:25 AM TOTALLY WRONG. If they allow costumes AT ALL. Then unless somebody has their privates hanging out then any costume should be allowed. And as far as anything being "offensive" there's ALWAYS somebody who's offended by ANYTHING. 2 much blood, 2 sexy, 2 religious and its MY religion. If he had dressed up as buddha or Shiva or something he would not have been kicked out. The ONLY ones offended would be the christians. The boy actually looks quite beautiful in his costume. Even if he had come as like "gay jesus" or something, he SHOULD BE ALLOWED. IT'S STILL AMERICA, RIGHT? The principal said "kids kept asking where's the boy who's dressed as Jesus? so that's a distraction. So basically ANY kid with a costume GOOD enough to make people ask "where's the kid with ***whatever costume" THAT'S the REAL reason why he was sent home. So NO other kid at the school had a costume worth asking about? That's bull. |

Monday, November 03, 2008 9:28:59 AM whatever costumes were worn would distract the learning, deal with it. |

Monday, November 03, 2008 9:15:24 AM The kid dressed up as Jesus to stir up controversy at school. Thats really the only reason someone would do that. Well he got his wish. |

Monday, November 03, 2008 9:08:49 AM its right because hes too fat, jesus was anorexic and dated around a lot because in that era people wanted to have as many babys as they could, no wonder jesus never knew his dad. |

Monday, November 03, 2008 9:03:49 AM I find it interesting that it seems like both the religious and non religious members of this community thinks either one group or the other was the offended party, or that it would make sense for them to be offended because of whichever group they fall into spurring such comments as "I'm a Christian/atheist and this didn't offend me at all." |

Monday, November 03, 2008 8:51:56 AM If it was a dress-up-for-halloween day, then he should have been able to dress up as anything he wanted as long as it wasn't offensive. The day would have been disrupted anyway if it was full of zombies and witches and such. |

Monday, November 03, 2008 8:34:45 AM How could a Jesus costume be any more disruptive than, say, the fat kid farting in class? I really don't see how dressing up as Jesus could be anything but awesome. From Pagans to Buddhists, everyone loves Jesus! |

Monday, November 03, 2008 6:31:38 AM If other kids were getting distracted by the kid in the costume, surely THEY are the ones who need to be punished or sent home.Do you send the black kid home when the other kids get racist? |

Monday, November 03, 2008 6:04:05 AM "It was disrupting the education process." "The school says this costume was a disruption and denies its religious nature had anything to do with it." BS, the whole day was disrupting the education process. If they want to do crap like this at least have the guts to say the real reason. Damn things sure have changed since I was in school. |

Monday, November 03, 2008 5:18:52 AM Wow. Quick_sand's back, and she's only gone to CAPS LOCK twice and kept the !!! marks down to a healthy 14. I guess the new Oxazepam medication is working out. Congrats, quick_sand, a step in the right direction. Have a discussion with your psychiatrist about increasing the dosage though: you're almost there. |

Monday, November 03, 2008 5:01:27 AM First of all I have to say, that was a kick-ass Jesus costume!!I can't believe that happened in Paramus. I leave a couple of towns away from there and when I was in school in the 80s I remember one year there was a kid who was Jesus, and 2 guys who were a catholic priest and a pregnant nun, and none of them got kicked out. |

Monday, November 03, 2008 4:56:23 AM How ridiculous. It's a costume. It doesn't have to be some religious statement. I think the problem is that people are so scared of offending others. If your faith is so weak you are offended by some kid dressed like Jesus for Halloween, maybe you should take a closer look at your life. |
