Sunday, September 28, 2008 12:57:38 PM That's not a RPG. It seems to be an old recoiless rifle. |

Sunday, September 28, 2008 11:38:34 AM "Did anyone else thing of role playing game when they saw the title?"that's the first thing i think about when hearing RPG "Boy, that must have hurt his pride. I mean, his face." when it comes to men, pride and face are one and the same |

Sunday, September 28, 2008 7:50:49 AM An RPG launcher is recoilless when operated correctly. The recoil from firing a conventional firearm is due to the equal and opposite reaction of the propelled round pressing against the gun. With a rocket launcher, the back is open, and all that energy goes to hurling superheated air out the back rather than pushing the gun.My guess: Back cap was closed or typical Soviet-designed quality control. |

Sunday, September 28, 2008 3:47:05 AM I thought an RPG propels a distance from the shooter and then accelerates mid-air, causing the backblast effect. Also, that's the reason you don't stand unsupported when firing shoulder-based launchers. |

Sunday, September 28, 2008 12:02:44 AM Actually, rocket launchers are recoilless (as previously stated) because the rocket is not sent forward by an explosion, but by an electrical charge, and the rocket itself engages rocketpropelled drive by "fuel" after a certain distance. As you can se in the video, without an electrical charge and the "backblow" function, a rocket launcher would be impossible to shoot with. |

Saturday, September 27, 2008 9:49:41 PM deanmalenko: recoilless propelled grenade? that doesn't even make sense.an rpg is a rocket propelled grenade. a grenade that is being propelled by way of a rocket. an rpg launcher is recoilless, yeah, but i've never heard of "recoilless propelled grenade." anyone have a link on that? google fails to bring up anything... and there's probably a reason for that ...yeah. |

Saturday, September 27, 2008 7:31:06 PM That's either not a actual RPG or something went horribly wrong. RPGs are recoilless. (Though the flash can knock you out.) I know cause I've shot them. Still hilarious! |
