What worries me is that they really have no idea what's going to happen when they do the big bang experiment...

lol has anyone had look on wikipedia for large hadron collider lately

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Large_Hadro...

made me chuckle.

davymid, all they did was turn it on and test the beams. they haven't actually performed the experiments yet. they said on the news that would be a couple of months. or some people on here are saying 21st october.

great, i wasn't bother untill someone went and mentioned bloody zombies.

i knew it, their going to smash the atoms together and by some 200 billion to 1 chance create a zombie atom that turns everyone, but me, into brain eating groaners.

when that happens, i promise to put you all swiftly out of your misery but means of machete beheadings, or crossbow bolt between the eyes.

your welcome

the world isnt going to go BOOM GONE, assuming the world goes away. We'd get slowly sucked into this microscopic black hole and according to hawking the hole would die as soon as its created.

i dont get how it's a waste of money... the money should go to the engineers who designed it, the scienctist who planed it, the workers who build it, and a whole bunch of things. by the way, who paid? did we tax it out?..

4. I forgot. Its not a waste of money.

It'd be a waste of money giving it to the homeless... then what?

If you do it on this, you hire workers to build the thing, scientist to work on it, and the media has a news story that builds ads and gets people to be opinionated on it which then gets sent to IAB where we some how make it a religious battle where we all know religious battles pay fancylads rent... DO YOU REALLY WANT TO TURN FANCYLAD INTO A HOMELESS PERSON???? (although he would have new shelters.... still)

Yeh, FLICK THE DAMN SWITCH and get it over with, at least it will stop this never-ending religious debating on IAB. Then all us Christians can stand on our clouds spitting on all the Hell-bound and dropping fireproof leaflets over the edge saying "Nyah nyah told ya so" while we stand around eating caviar and pavlova all day.

It's not a total waste of money. I mean, we have thrown money into far more worthless thing: ESP research, for an example. And I don't think a huge particle accelerator capable of recreating the first stages of the Universe is exactly a waste.

This is rather scary. I know that there isn't a really big chance of it happening, but it could mean the end I suppose. With so much energy, it could reach the amount of energy of a nuclear bomb. I am seriously kind of nervous. And if it doesn't work? Thank God, and they look like dumb asses who won't get another penny because they just wasted 5,000,000,000 Pounds. XD

They're attempting to recreate the conditions of the big bang and "no one really knows what will happen when they flick on the switch"?.........
