Well, allow me to explain (im portuguese and i remember this,[also can understand what they're saying:P]):In this game, a friendly match abroad (i think it was a friendly) the stadium organization hired private security instead of the police (as is custom) and they are, well, let's say, a bit extreme. Thing is, the man only carried a poster saying he supported the referee, that's all. When there's a streaker or something it's just escorted out of the stadium, but these tough 4 restrained him and started beating hum, and by that time all of the crowd and all of the players united to f*ck them cowards up, so it's sort of like violence to stop violence, not a real 'riot', nor are those people hooligans :P My 2 cents |

That cop shouldn't have been hitting him like that no matter what he did. All he did was (from what i saw) run out onto the field with a sign...he didn't desrve a continual beatting with the club!! |

Huh. Did anyone else notice that the cop being pounded on in the middle of the pitch was, to me, telling the other cop off for the strikes? From what I could tell, the cop that was hitting the guy just walked off the pitch. Thats the problem with mob mentality; innocent people get hurt. |

the fans who ran onto the field were all portuguese. the guy invading the pitch was portuguese as well. The fuzz were swiss as well as much of the crowd and the other team. |

'The cop caused that and deserved a good kicking. The police are there to serve the public and up hold the law..not wail on people. the guy invaded the pitch..fine..but beating him repeatadly with a nightstick whilst he's held down? What a tough guy! Anyway...both players and crowd took a strong dislike to it and good on them for doing so. "Yea, I'm sure he was just laying there cooperating too huh? Because you were there next to them weren't you maddog? No, you weren't. Neither one of us were, so neither of us KNOWS what happened. But to assume that a group of cops IN THE MIDDLE OF A dratING SOCCER FIELD WITH THOUSANDS OF FANS WATCHING AND TV dratING CAMERAS BROADCASTING TO THE WORLD are gonna beat the poo out of a guy for no reason is perfectly logical. Makes PERFECT sense. |
