Thursday, October 29, 2009 6:00:44 PM I would like to make a note that, as of today's date, the post below is that author's only ever post. Which means that someone made an account solely for the purpose of commenting on a thread which was already a year old, and didn't comment on anything else. If you are reading this then you have found one of the internet's easter eggs. Congratulations. |

Wednesday, August 20, 2008 3:38:48 PM not all types of tae kwon do have the bouncing around like that kid was doing. i take sung moo kwan tae kwon do (i probably spelled it wrong but u get the idea). basically its not all about fancy footwork. its about wut u should actually do in different situations. its more along the lines of kickboxing than traditional tae kwon do. we even have jiu jiutsu because no fight will stay standing up for that long. so dont go around categorizing all tae kwon do styles as bouncing around with ur hands hanging and throwing only kicks. it depends on the style |

Tuesday, August 19, 2008 7:05:22 AM actually that not a roundhouse kick, i take martial arts, so i know what one is. that was a spinning hook kick, although it was only done poorly except for the fact that it was at a nice height. it would be simply blocked, especially at that height |

Tuesday, August 19, 2008 7:02:50 AM Yeah, lucky strike to the temple = lights out.The spinning kick would be one of the strongest in TKD, but as iruga said it is telegraphed and if you miss you have a lot of momentum you have to kill before you are stable again. And look at how little the attacker put into his balance. He fell over as soon as his heel connected... Former TKD black belt and state champion. Also studied judo, hapkido, currently studying Chinese straight sword (jian)... |

Monday, August 18, 2008 10:12:07 PM PS. against any combat martial artist as in not in tae kwon do. arts such as crav maga (sp?) and other kopojitsu ( bone breaking) arts that kick would have failed. they bounce around A LOT and he had large telegraph which any trained person will notice and be able to avoid or block. most tae kwon do schools teach little to nothing about guards and blocking because they are more focused on the pooty tournament attacks and that also leaves them wide open for counter attacks |

Monday, August 18, 2008 7:28:10 PM Boom! Headshot! Sorry I just had to say that. Rofl. Still, if the kid hadn't been wearing a helmet, he probably would have a broken jaw or something. |

Monday, August 18, 2008 5:35:54 PM Well fortunately I'm not the first to point out that it was a SPINNING HOOK KICK, not a roundhouse kick. Nice to know I'm not the only martial arts practitioner on here. That was pretty awesome though, I must admit. I didn't expect it to be that brutal. |
