"There are indeed, but the chances of a news report talking about another London are slim. If it happens to take place in London, Canada, the news agency would presumably point out that the city in question is not the English capital."

It's London, Ontario, Canada. We are large enough to have multiple provinces, and not just one giant region. And it is fairly large(for a northen city). Though I admit it probably doesn't make much world wide publicity.

I went to the Flugtag in Portland on Saturday! It was REALLY COOL.

The record was about 62 feet, and it was a giant bike.

I would love to help design one, but I'd be too scared of breaking myself if it failed TOO hard.

gorgack2000: There are other places called London. There are hundreds of places in Canada and the USA named after places in the UK. London, Canada, is a small city. I wouldn't be surprised to find a village in the USA called London...well, there's a London in Kentucky, USA, but I've no idea of its size and can't be bothered to find out."

"Falling slightly more slowly than usual machines" would be more accurate, but it doesn't have quite the same ring to it.

Good for a laugh.

I wonder if it's possible to build anything that would perform reasonably well within the rules of the game. I doubt it, as the machine can be powered only by a few people pushing it off a small ramp maybe a dozen feet above the water.

Oh, so that's where London is? I thought it was in Estonia...
</sarcasm>

I wasn't expecting the red plane to do so well. Likewise I thought the horse-plane would've gone quite far. Alas, I was wrong...
