Saturday, August 02, 2008 11:30:15 PM SKR34: How can i put this to not hurt your imo feelings....STFU! The fact that you believe anything on tv, especially anything from europe says more about you than you think. If you have even once driven a car in you life you should know that they place the cameras at different heights/angles according to the geography of the intersection at witch they are placed. Don't just assume that one show about fast and pretty cars can tell you everything about speed/stop-light cameras. Just wait until you get a picture taken of you and your imo queers making out while running a red light hits your parent's mail box. BTW, favorite car: a nissan? BUY AMERICAN, don't support foreign industry. It's people like you that will bring down the American way. Shame on you! SHAME! |

Friday, August 01, 2008 5:36:31 PM Things like this are the reason I stopped watching Mythbusters. 1.Top Gear proved that if you go fast enough, the car won't set off the camera. It was also done in a regular car, not a Murcielago. 2.They are not using a standard Speed Camera. 3.The camera the are using is not high up, where a speed camera would normally be. 4.They most likely faked it in an attempt to prevent people from trying to beat the speed camera. |

Wednesday, July 30, 2008 3:00:23 PM Every time I see that clip I just want to strangle both of them(and I actually like the show). They are doing it all wrong. Around here we just go to the junk yard and take off an old plate cover. Either the old faded ones or a dark colored one and put it on your rear plate. That is if you are allowed.(laws vary from state to state) A cheap ass alternative, take off your rear plate and put a "plate stolen" sign in it's place. Keep in mind that this only works if your state's cameras take pictures of the BACK of your car, otherwise just do the same to the front. duh |

Wednesday, July 30, 2008 11:30:20 AM Um, you can't beat a speed camera with pure speed - someone driving a Koenigsegg CC in Texas was issued a speeding ticket for going 245mph in his Sweedish megacar. A world record, in fact. But you can go Goldfinger on that camera's arse like the Mythbusters!! |

Wednesday, July 30, 2008 8:26:03 AM All you need to do is remove your front plate and put it in the floor of your car. If you get pulled over, you tell the officer that when you got back to your car (in the parking lot or garage), someone had taken one of the two screws that hold the plate. You will usually just get told to get it fixed unless you were doing something else wrong or have a record of other tickets or crimes. |

Wednesday, July 30, 2008 5:55:19 AM its pretty simple, most of the time you know where the cameras are, just speed, then slow down for the camera, then speed again. Its not like they prevent anything, they just collect money for the state. I hate them, and red light cameras. |

Wednesday, July 30, 2008 5:54:14 AM I think Top Gear proved you CAN drive past a speed camera fast enough so it doesn't get you, but you have to be driving somewhere close to 200mph...so it's going to be hard. I think it was a different episode to the one TheMuel posted. |

Wednesday, July 30, 2008 12:10:19 AM what do we know about cameras? well for one, they work much like our eyes and two they have exposure times (that last for a very short time per photo taken). if a person where to overstimulate the lens of a camera as it becomes exposed, that person would render said camera "blind" for a few fractions of a sec and thus avoid getting caught speeding. if i had enough free time and an actual car i would invent something along these lines cause the james bond trick seems so 20th century. |

Tuesday, July 29, 2008 10:32:53 PM I have an even better way of not having a speed ticket.DON'T GET A CAR! (p.s. where I come from you have to be 18 to drive and though I'm a little older than that it's not unheard of to not have your license, don't hate on me) |
