Tuesday, July 22, 2008 2:13:28 PM That it seems to require replacing the handgrip (which presumably contains the compressed gas) after each activation would seem to limit its utility. Otherwise, it's a weapon far more effective than a normal knife. It wouldn't replace a gun, it would replace a standard knife. Presumably if you're out of gas you can still use it like such. It might find itself banned by the Geneva convention though. Not that the US military pays any heed of that. |

Monday, July 21, 2008 3:32:06 PM "stufftkid-- How dare you torture innocent animals with a heat gun!!! Also, dam you for having one, I've wanted one for years, even before I knew they were actually realistic weapons. Those dam cats on my property are just asking for it..." [lie] Well...erm... it wasn't my idea. [/lie]
"Well..it looks like the ADS is a type of DEW. DEW is a a category of weapons, ADS is a weapon." That sounds reasonable. "And about the DEW and other thing situation. One of them is a rifle Dew and the other one is a huge ass mounted machine. I saw it on future weapons " OH! MR EXPERT! SOMONES EJUKATED CUZ HE WATCHED FUTURE WEPINS! ha, jk. but although your theory sounds reasonable, id have to say that siyanor is more correct, because i have heard of mounted DEWs and handheld ones and different names for them.

Monday, July 21, 2008 1:49:39 PM I looked at their site and thought, who the heck thinks of these things??like, isn't simple stabbing enough? or do you feel like you need to mutilate your enemy at the same time. Anyway, I think it's being marketed towards divers prone to shark attack. As Jaws taught us, blowing up sharks with compressed gas can be a tried and true method of ensuring your safety. |

Monday, July 21, 2008 11:44:58 AM Here's a quote from their website:"As divers, we all know what the effects of compressed gas are underwater. Our training teaches us that our lungs would burst from over-inflation if we held our breath and rose to the surface. This principle is key to the effectiveness of the WASP Injection System. This weapon injects a freezing cold ball of compressed gas, approximately the size of a basketball, at 800psi nearly instantly. The effects of this injection will drop many of the world's largest land predators. The effects of the compressed gas not only cause over-inflation during ascent when used underwater, but also freezes all tissues and organs surrounding the point of injection on land or at sea. When used underwater, the injected gas carries the predator to the surface BEFORE blood is released into the water. Thus giving the diver added protection by diverting other potential predators to the surface."

Monday, July 21, 2008 11:13:04 AM "cat barf: Light Emission through Stimulated Emission of Radiation.Light is radiation. Microwaves are radiation. Just because it's a laser doesn't mean it burns things." Actually it has to be amplification lAser, laser is an acronym for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation could talk to you about the differences between 3 and 4 state lasers and all that crap, but it's a lot more boring than actually firing a laser. But a laser is photon not microwaves due to it being an electron protional pathway equal to the energy of the incoming photon. Microwaves are MASERS but I can't remember anything about them to be honest... |
