Thursday, July 24, 2008 6:30:34 PM "Earth has even frozen over completely, possibly more than once." Not possibly it was and it was heated up like now. its a cycle that has been going on for millions of years. Evey 500 years the eath freezes and heats up. Any way this video was made by morons. WE are the most successful animal on the face of this planet. We with only our minds and no natural defense have built empires, and beat our predators. We went from a simple scavenger. Yes scavenger we ate rotten meat. To figuring out how to hunt how to make tool to ensure our survival. Yet only a few of us see and understand that. |

Monday, July 21, 2008 2:09:31 PM Earth is tough enough to handle us. The earth has been subject to abuse for billions of years. There are obvious things like asteroids and comets, but sometimes we overlook earth's history. Remember that oxygen--despite being a very common element--tends not to occur in it's gaseous diatomic form since it reacts too readily. Life partly made earth's atmosphere. In fact, when life began to evolve, oxygen was actually toxic to most life. When life began to terraform the planet, the species that couldn't cope all died out. Earth has even frozen over completely, possibly more than once. We're just part of Earth's natural evolutionary cycle. We're not that special, and one day we'll be wiped out too. |

Sunday, July 20, 2008 7:12:46 AM Yes, the planet will survive, but we won't. That's one of the trademarks of viral infections, they kill whatever they need to live in order to prolifereate, then jumps to a new host. The earth will survive, but the conditions won't be those we need in order to survive. And the nearest host is too far away. We're effed but good. |

Saturday, July 19, 2008 11:04:14 PM "and offer antidotes to the smartest, most sustainable people... people like scientists, artists, and engineers"Don't forget the people at Pixar Animation Studios! Wall-E almost made me cry...almost. On the other hand I wouldn't mind being sterilized, I know I'm not smart or creative. |
