I would like to start a movement against useless acronyms but what are you going to do... it's already too late and everybody use acronyms for everything which lead to lots of useless confusion.How many of you know what NASA stand for without looking for the answer on the internet? IT'S NOT A LANGUAGE! Just because it has different orthography/grammar/syntax than regular English, it can still be understood by speakers of regular English, making it not even a pidgin or creole, but a DIALECT OF ENGLISH, which is defined as "a variety of a language that is characteristic of a particular group of the language's speakers," per Wikipedia, "particular group" meaning texters/internet-what-have-yous. |
