Oh I used to have one of these things lol. It was pre-made though, so I don't know exactly how to do it. I guess you just put a little picture in each little space on the spinning thing, and then spin it at just the right speed to make it look like an animation.
In simpler terms, it's basically a better flip-book. xD |

If you guys notice that when it becomes blurry, that's when he changes the shutter speed.The guy sets the shutter speed so that it takes an image at a certain time. That gives the animation. |

this illusion works because our brain registers images at around 30 fps (frames per second) so if you move 30 (or so) still images past our eyes in a second, it will appear to be one continuous animation.this illusion also shows when we see the wheels of a car appear to rotate "backwards", the spoke is going fast enough to appear just behind its original position after 1/30th of a second |
