Saturday, June 28, 2008 8:01:20 PM seriously, pay attention to the start of the video. He is pedaling liek crazy, and if you look close you can see the road curves around the house. The video was doctored, alright - they didnt show him getting up to speed, just the few seconds before the launch. The video is real, the launch is real, and the guy is pretty lucky to have not seriously injured himself. But it looked cool, I guess that's all that matters nowdays. |

Monday, June 23, 2008 7:03:40 PM i knew it!!! 3 days ago, i was watching Attack of The Show and on it...it had this... and it is real. and if you think about it... is it really that amazing? someone riding off a ramp into a pool? maybe it would've been better if he hit pavement. yay pavement. |

Sunday, June 22, 2008 1:30:21 PM real and if he probably had a bigger take-off and a little more speed he would have made it clean. |

Sunday, June 22, 2008 11:36:43 AM i'd say that an experienced bmxer would probably know more about this than a physicist |

Sunday, June 22, 2008 11:35:05 AM donk, that was a pretty good explanation. but you could just take it from me (a dirt jumper and bmxer) that with a ramp like that, if he pumped enough then he could launch himself into the air. of course i probably couldnt do that while going that slow. |

Sunday, June 22, 2008 10:51:02 AM I forgot to add that the bike flipped because his rear tire struck the edge of the pool. One thing this Mensa candidate looks like he forgot to calculate is wind resistance because the from the trees he appeared to to have the wind blowing towards him...if we calculate in wind resistance of around 4 miles per hour he would have had a probable linear distance of around 32-34 feet which is probably why he was short on the landing and ended up with an injury of some sort...I am glad I paid attention in school. |

Sunday, June 22, 2008 10:42:47 AM BMX=Bicycle Moto-Cross..the X is slang for cross. Physics wise is you figure in linear motion that he was going about 8 miles per hour on what appeared to be around a 45 degree incline he would have a maximum linear distance of about 35-37 feet which is around the distance he appeared to travel...change the variable of speed to 10 miles per hour and he would have had a linear distance of around 42-46 feet. What I am saying is that this video is plausible and appears to be real. |
