Why am I not surprised to see EA on the list twice...ever since they took over Maxis and The Sims 2, the game has been steadily getting worse. They even have some BS about "exclusive downloads" for each expansion pack - but there are 6 different downloads, depending on who you pre-order the game from. Who buys six copies of a game? EA, the greedy bastards.

"Seriously, go out and price a 4 processored Quad Core server with at least 24 gigs of RAM, and 5000 terabytes of bandwidth a month. (Around 30,000 dollars per month on average), and then multiply that by 300 servers."

heh, I'm actually a Systems Engineer for a Web Hosting company. It's my job to know these things. :P

Well, well. Seems people finally realize that the gaming industry is becoming a big money-grubbing bunch of corporations that don't care about the people that really matter... the gamers.

I say we start a boycott!!! EA is first on the list!

-i really dont see how preventing you from cheating at a game is screwing you... if people want to play the game they should play it on an even ground just like everyone else.. or if you are some prick who is too lazy to actually put forth the effort it takes to level and get good gear.. just buy it from someone else.. tards-

it scans your computer and sends whatever information it deems worthy to blizzard without your permission.

how did you not catch that part?

#1 is spot on, for all the gaming magazines. I realized this years ago when Civ III got glowing reviews across the board, when it wasn't even half the game Civ II was. The bigger the company making the game, the higher the score.

He forgot to mention games that are rushed out before they're ready, so that the first wave of buyers can shell out cash to be beta testers. (The problems are then patched.)

How about how up until 2000 you used to be able to wait six months or so for a game to come down in price, but now the older games are constantly rebundled ("Game of the Year Edition!" - how can almost every game be "Game of the Year?") to keep the prices in the top range?

Games that have such extreme copy protection that the game takes up twice as much memory and have a ridiculously long loading time (Steam, anyone?) Games with awesome development but very short game play (Bioshock) Console systems with a manufactured product shortage (Wii) The list goes on a

That must be why GTA 4 got a 10.
It is a very good game (I haven't played it but I've seen my older sister play it, and it looks pretty good), but it's not exactly 10 worthy...

That gamespot one was Cnets fault was it not, one of the reviewers was so disgusted by it and quit, there was a good bit of talk about it, well unspecified talk.

I read reviews at gamespot, but not the critics reviews, the users reviews.

Yeah, just about anybody who is into gaming knows the tricks the game industry tries to pull to get your money. But it's not like the game industry is alone, everything is out to get your money. Just not as much as the game industry.

They think that people who play video games will fall for just about anything and, they are probably right seeing as how well madden still sells each year.

That C.O.D one isn't a screw-over! It says at the bottom of those ads, like it did for Gears Of War and plenty others, "Not Actual Game Footage" or something similar.

Real Life Equivalent:
The very pretty roast dinner saying 'Serving Suggestion' on it.

No effing way...

I didn't know that about Gamespot, that's the most retarded idea ever. No wonder GTA4 got the perfect score...
