Monday, June 02, 2008 11:43:29 AM That's amazing. Just think of the possibilities if that were mass marketed. Anybody catch the "Asian" Bill Clinton? |

Friday, May 30, 2008 2:36:22 PM "HAL stands for Hybrid Assistive Limb, stupid =P" Yeah, I know, but the fact that it's an abbreviation doesn't excuse the fact that they named it after another AI entity known to have rebelled against its crew and tried to kill them all for the sake of the mission. No matter how fancy of an abbreviation you could come up with, naming the UN's computer server H.I.T.L.E.R. would still be a really bad idea. |

Thursday, May 29, 2008 7:28:40 PM seriously though, its just a tool, and a still badly working one at that, not a robot, or a cyborg-hybrid. would you call a guy delivering chicken noodle soup on a moped a cyborg?

Thursday, May 29, 2008 6:08:29 PM This is wonderful! See!? See what we can accomplish when we put funding in the right areas instead of just simply hurling ourselves into a violent oblivion!? WE CAN ACHIEVE SO MUCH MORE THAN VIOLENCE! Think of it! So much work can be done!!! |

Thursday, May 29, 2008 5:26:04 PM "Wait. Hang on a second. They really named their robot "HAL"? I don't know what's worse, that, or the British guy who thought about naming the army's (or was it a space agency?) supercomputer "Skynet"." HAL stands for Hybrid Assistive Limb, stupid =P this is the fifth version of the original HAL suit, i think. I read about this in a magazine somewhere... yeah, it's cool, but it only holds 330 pounds. I think I heard there was an american suit that could hold 500+, but I can't cite anything |
