Thursday, May 15, 2008 3:43:04 PM Chappell? wtf can you only assume a few small conclusions on your downward spiral. This "Fail" was epic.Literally everything you said was wrong: Again, it's not a glider, that thing can travel 100 miles or more and not a "few" miles, it doesn't "glide", it has about as much performance as a Tornado fighter plane, that jetpack can both go vertical AND climb, here's a quote from the website: "[with a few safety tweaks it can:] take-off, do aerobatics, vertical climbs, and participate at various airshows" Also it's climb rate is faster than a Boeing 747 or a Military Apache Helicopter. It weighs 120lbs and provides 200-250 lbs of trust. |

Thursday, May 15, 2008 1:41:27 PM thats gliding, that wing-thing can only go only a few miles and its on a downward slope that "jetpack" cant go vertical or climb altitude |

Thursday, May 15, 2008 1:30:04 PM this is not a "glider" this thing has enough thrust to lift some people vertically (if the pilot were light enough), it is very fast and can accelerate to 200mph flying straight, and faster diving. To give an idea of how powerful that is, the fastest glider ever created that met FAA regulations for safety traveled 150mph diving. Currently the jet pack this guy has reports a 2:3 power to weight ratio. Also the flight time is *TEN minutes++* keep in mind with a jet pack the flight time is currently with the best ones that are state of the art are an amazing 33 seconds. Also "jet packs" don't work because they are only about 3% efficient. This thing is 60% efficient. Jet packs used compressed gas (think like a tank of compressed air,) and this uses fuel which cannot be put to use in a jet packs because it will burn your skin off if you get within feet of the exhaust why by the design of a jetpack you will. The buzz light year wing here has the jet feet away. |

Thursday, May 15, 2008 1:18:56 PM Right because a lack of sound is suspicious. I've worked in the video editing industry and sound is one of the easiest things to fake if anything, when some one takes time to fake a vid the sound is the easy part. In fact I'm supposed to make a fake car sound like a real one right about now, should take half an hour not kidding i'm working on that. The reason there is no sound or commentary is because this is raw footage... and when you record things that happen in the air, unless you are in a cabin the sound of the rushing air will cut your mic out and you'll get screeching sound.Oh yeah the fact this is covered by every other newspaper would also help to make it not suspicious. |

Thursday, May 15, 2008 11:37:29 AM If this is real it's awesome. There not being a commentary for it seems rather suspicious to me. |

Thursday, May 15, 2008 10:38:06 AM I reme, ber seeing a post on here ages ago about sci-fi gadgets that are basically a waste of space... A jet pack was one of them!REASON: because it's a tank of gas strapped to your back... which means you're limited by how much you can carry... IRONY: The stronger you are = the more you can carry BUT: the stronger you are = the bigger you are = the more you weigh = the more IT has to carry = probably the same amount of time a skinny weak person would get flying = FAIL ...but fun to watch and probably fun to do for the 10 seconds it could be done |
