Tuesday, April 07, 2009 3:40:44 AM The West researches cures for cancer. Japan gives us a useless robot doing what a human can already do....Yeah, thanks Japan. |

Thursday, May 15, 2008 6:43:12 AM Getting a human being is still cheaper, so conductors world round shouldn't be too worried...for now. |

Wednesday, May 14, 2008 9:47:00 PM duckingfuh - I agree with you, but I think what Ryan is trying to say is that THIS robot in particular is completely worthless and not productive (Which it is), not robots in general. Japeneese really tick me off with their stupid completely uselees super expensive inventions... like this one. |

Wednesday, May 14, 2008 6:57:22 PM Meh, not too hard to conduct an orchestra. Now, if he had to improvise, that'd be sweet. |

Wednesday, May 14, 2008 4:16:37 PM ryan99: true, but robots can more readily go to places humans cant. radioactive areas, extreme heat or cold, places where there is no oxygen... |

Wednesday, May 14, 2008 3:20:42 PM would be handy if suddenly the human conductor gets sick, or contracts deadly AIDS and feels the need to spread it to raise awarness |

Wednesday, May 14, 2008 1:54:06 PM Why thank ya kindly Dainty! I think using the robot for grabbing every teenager that it catches littering and having its eyes go red saying, "DESTROY PATHETIC HUMAN! DESTROY PATHETIC HUMAN!" would do much more good for the environment! (obviously, 1st time's a warning, second is a slap, third time means run for your huevos rancheros) Nothing like a fear of the Matrix or Terminator to bring out the tree hugger in you! ^-^ |

Wednesday, May 14, 2008 1:50:39 PM "mimmicking the actions of a human composer, video taped before the show." So the robot has no concept of the music, it's only copying movements of a person. He's just waving his hands around and doesn't know why. Now if they had programmed him with the actual music, and how to conduct based on notes on a page...that would have been impressive. But he still can't write or understand the music itself, or empassion it. Human talent will never be obsolete. |
